An image forming apparatus includes: a pull-print data obtaining circuit that obtains rasterized data depending on a resolution of the image forming apparatus from a server device, the server device storing intermediate data and one or more pieces of rasterized data, the intermediate data being generated based on printable data and independent of a resolution, the one or more pieces of rasterized data being generated based on the intermediate data and depending on one or more resolutions, respectively; and an image forming circuit that forms an image based on the obtained rasterized data.

A pull print system includes a printing apparatus (MFP) that executes a print job, a pull print server that spools the print job to be executed as a pull print by the printing apparatus, and an electronic device that sends the print job to the pull print server. The pull print server sends to the electronic device setting information for a job setting being a setting of the print job, and when displaying a setting screen for the job setting, the electronic device displays the setting screen on which the setting information sent from the pull print server is reflected.

An image output method includes capturing an image of code pattern including device information specifying an image output device, obtaining the device information from the image of code pattern, obtaining user information specifying a user, and outputting the device information and the user information to an external device, by an information processing device; authenticating the user based on the user information, by a processor; executing image output processing instructed by the user authenticated based on the user information, by the image output device specified based on the device information; transmitting a result of the image output processing by the image output device to the information processing device, by the image output device; and displaying the result of the image output processing by the information processing device.

An image processing system includes a portable terminal and an image forming device. The management server includes an emulator management unit and one or more emulators, and an estimated amount calculating unit. The estimated amount calculating unit calculates an estimated amount of charging when the print job is executed using the total count of pages, the print paper sheet size for each page, and the color/monochrome type for each page of the document to be printed by the print job determined by the emulator selected by the emulator management unit. Each of the one or more image forming apparatuses includes an estimated amount display. The estimated amount display obtains the estimated amount of charging from the management server when the print job is executed, so as to present the estimated amount of charging to the user via the display.

An image forming apparatus includes a print device, a communication device, a print executing circuit, a job managing circuit, and an another-apparatus transmitting circuit. The print device executes print on a recording medium. The communication device performs communications. The print executing circuit causes the print device to perform a print job addressing a first port number received by the communication device. The job managing circuit manages a print job addressing a second port number received by the communication device. The second port number is different from the first port number. The another-apparatus transmitting circuit transmits the print job managed by the job managing circuit to another image forming apparatus upon request from the other image forming apparatus via the communication device.

An information processing system includes one or more information processing apparatuses. Provided is a pull printing system that is capable of improving security performance over that of a typical system. When authentication based on identification information and authentication information of a person providing a transmission instruction from a user terminal is successful, a pull printing server of the pull printing system correlates a printing job from the user terminal with identification information of a person providing an execution instruction from the user terminal, and spools the printing job.
