A display control device and method configured to recommend, at proper times, that a user use a normal screen rather than a simple screen and increase effective utilization of the normal screen. A normal screen and a simple screen may be displayed for accepting a setting operation. A recommendation may be displayed that a user use the normal screen at proper times, including but not limited to, if every function set by the user on the normal screen is settable on the normal screen, if a setting period exceeds a certain value, if a ratio of functions settable on the normal screen to set functions that is calculated from the operation history regarding the plurality of setting operations is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, if a predetermined number of functions on the normal screen match functions in the operation history information, or by using operation history, acquired information about the set function, a set value, or a setting period.

Provided is an electrical apparatus that realizes an operation that can simplify an operation by reflecting a past operation history by a user without inviting an increase in storage capacity. Information of a stepwise operation procedure is identified for each user and stored in a storage unit. Therefore, for example, a case is described in which a control unit recognizes a user when the user uses an image forming apparatus. An image processing apparatus, including a display, a memory, and a controller, to provide a plurality of functions is provided. The controller controls the display to display one of a first screen, through which one of the plurality of functions is selectable; a second screen, through which one of a plurality of options for the selected function is selectable; and a third screen, through which selection of the one of the plurality of options is indicated. When the controller reads shortcut information that indicates a first option for a selected one of the functions, and when the first option is permitted to the user, the third screen is displayed. When the first option is not permitted to the user, and if there is a second option permitted to the user, the second screen is displayed.

An image processing system comprises: a terminal device that is provided with a display part; and an image processing device that outputs screen data to the terminal device, thereby enabling the display part to display a screen based on the screen data. The image processing device includes: a storage part in which multiple types of the screen data corresponding to respective screen sizes are stored; a screen information obtaining part that obtains information relating to the screen size of the display part; a screen data selecting part that selects the screen data corresponding to the screen size smaller than the screen size of the display part from among the multiple types of the screen data based on the information obtained by the screen information obtaining part; and an output part that outputs the screen data selected by the screen data selecting part to the terminal device.

The present invention is to provide an imaging apparatus superior in operability and visibility at the time of setting and adjusting functions thereof. The apparatus includes GUI screen image generating means for generating a GUI screen image for operating the imaging apparatus to display the GUI screen image on image display means; operating means for operating the GUI screen image displayed on the image display means; controlling means for controlling the imaging apparatus in accordance with the operation of the GUI screen image by the operating means; storing means for storing hierarchy type main menu information; menu generating means; and menu editing means capable of editing the unique menu information generated by the menu generating means. The controlling means controls the GUI screen image generating means when detecting a predetermined operation by the operating means, and the GUI screen image generating means generates the GUI screen image in which the index information to operate the menu editing means is included in the unique menu information, in accordance with the control by the controlling means, and displays the GUI screen image on the image display means.
