An information processing apparatus includes: a data sharing unit configured to cause an application selected as a data output destination to process data which is output by an application which is a data output source; a process-object-data generation control unit configured to generate process object data in one of a first format and a second format based on image data acquired by an image information interface from an image information source; and an application-information display unit configured to display identification images for identifying applications which the data sharing unit can select as the data output destination if the data sharing unit is to process either data of the first format or data of the second format.

A set of program instructions, when executed by a controller of an information processing apparatus, causes the information processing apparatus to: display, on a display of the information processing apparatus, a scan result screen formed by sequentially arranging images of documents scanned by an image scanner at respective ones of M×N display frames, the M×N display frames including M display frames arranged vertically and N display frames arranged horizontally; display an insertion icon at a left-side position with respect to a center of a display frame in a horizontal direction, the display frame being one of the M×N display frames; and in response to an operation of the insertion icon, control the image scanner to scan an image of a new document, and insert the scanned image to a position that is immediate left of the display frame corresponding to the operated insertion icon.

An electronic device includes a storage device, a display device, and a control device. The storage device stores a document image sequence in which a plurality of document images of original documents are arranged in chronological order. The control device functions as an editor, a converter, and a display controller. The editor performs edition processing on the document images forming the document image sequence. The converter converts the document image sequence edited by the editor to a moving image. The display controller allows the display device to display the document images forming the document image sequence in an image display area of the display device.

An image capturing device includes an imaging device and circuitry. The imaging device captures an image. The circuitry defines a point of interest in the image, converts the defined point of interest in accordance with attitude information of the image capturing device, and cuts out a viewable area from the image. The viewable area includes the converted point of interest.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: evaluate the performance of each of plural combinations of processes, each combination including a series of processes, the plural combinations being included in plural processes, the series of processes being configured to be performed on an image, the performance being evaluated on the basis of the result of performing the series of processes on a test image for each combination; select a combination of processes, the evaluated performance of which meets a first selection condition, from among the plural combinations of processes, and process an actual image; and in the case where a performance obtained by processing the actual image meets a switch condition determined in advance, switch to a combination of processes, the evaluated performance of which meets a second selection condition, and process the actual image.

A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. An image forming apparatus includes a display and a processor that is programmed to perform control to display multiple document-addition display components that are formed on the display together with all or some of reduced images of pages included in a first document. Each of the multiple document-addition display components is formed between adjacent ones of the reduced images of pages included in the first document. The multiple document-addition display components are operated by a user to add a second document to the first document.

A method for dynamically scaling scanned images is disclosed. For example, the method is executed by a processor and includes receiving a scanned image, determining that the scanned image is larger than a previously scanned image, adjusting the previously scanned image to be smaller than the scanned image, generating an adjusted previously scanned image, and causing a display to show the scanned image and the adjusted previously scanned image.
