The present invention provides a dental suturing needle comprising a needle part provided with a needle point, and an eye part extending from the needle part and provided with an eye of the needle, wherein between the needle part and eye part is a curved part which is structured so that the needle part slants to the left or right by 20-45 with respect to the eye part. The present invention provides a three-dimensional suturing needle structured so that the needle part curves laterally by a set angle two to three times from the eye part to thus facilitate securing suturing space inside the mouth cavity, remove discomfort to the hand due to easy access to the treatment area, and allow smooth suturing without having to apply excessive pressure to the wrist, and additionally, the present invention is a very useful invention which creates spaces that do not come into contact with tissues to thus allow smooth movement of the suturing needle and minimize damage to the tissues.

Length of self-retaining suture and method and device for using the same

A method and device for anchoring a length of self-retaining suture. The method of anchoring includes providing for an assembly having a length of self-retaining suture and a suture insertion device. The length of suture includes at least a portion of the length having a plurality of retainers thereon extending in a first direction. The insertion device has a length and a recess to receive a portion of the suture length. The method further includes placing a portion of the suture length in the recess and inserting the device into the body of a mammal until the recess reaches a predetermined location thereby forming an insertion pathway. The method further includes retrieving the insertion device from the body by moving the insertion device in a direction substantially opposed to the insertion pathway.

WOUND CLOSURE SYSTEM

A wound closure system and a method of reducing the size of an open wound are disclosed. A suture line is sutured through body tissue adjacent an open wound, the suture line sutured so as to pass into the body tissue at an entry point and exit at an exit point, the suture line including a plurality of barbs extending outwardly at an acute angle with respect to a surface of the suture line. A biasing member applies a continuous pulling force on the suture line for stretching the body tissue toward the open wound, wherein the biasing member is configured to take up any slack of the suture line during stretching of the body tissue and keep the suture line taut.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR JOINT REPAIR

A bolster system having a first bolster device, a second bolster device, and an adjustable tether that includes a one-way pre-tied slideable adjustment knot. The adjustment knot is at a first position prior to insertion of the first bolster device into a passageway in one or more bones. The second bolster device includes a body portion having an outer portion that is sized to be received in the passageway and/or in an aperture of a bone plate. The body portion also includes a channel that is sized to accommodate recessed and/or embedded placement of the pre-tied slideable adjustment knot. The second bolster device can also include an oversized plate portion that abuts against a cortex of a bone or a wall of a bone plate. The second bolster device can also include a threaded member or retention tab that lockingly secures the second bolster device to a bone plate.

DEVICE AND METHOD OF PERFORMING CERCLAGE SACROCERVICOPEXY

An implantable cerclage sacrocolpopexy medical device includes an elongate strip of flat, flexible material extending longitudinally from a first end to an opposite second end; a surgical needle attached to the first end of the elongate strip; and a loop at either the first end or the second end of the elongate strip. The medical device is positioned circumferentially around the cervix. The end of the elongate strip opposite the end having the loop is passed through the loop and attached to the sacrum or sacrospinous ligament.
