One embodiment of the present invention relates to a releasable flexible coupling system comprising a base, a coupling member, and a sewn member. The coupling member is fixably coupled to the base across the widthwise dimension on opposite sides of the lengthwise dimension forming a recess between the base and the coupling member. The sewn member comprises a strap, a folded region, and a primary stitch. The strap includes a body and a lengthwise end. The folded region is disposed on the lengthwise end of the strap and includes a portion that overlaps the body. The primary stitch extends through both the folded region and the body of the strap. An optional stiffener may be disposed between the lengthwise end of the strap and the folded region. The primary stitch will also extend through the stiffener if present.

A method for using a magnetic button used with a preexisting button and a preexisting button hole associated with the preexisting button of an article of clothing. The magnetic button includes a female portion and a male portion. The female portion attaches to the preexisting button of the article of clothing, and the male portion is inserted into the preexisting button hole of the article of clothing. The male portion is magnetic, while the female portion is magnetic attractive, and being so, a location position of the male portion and the female portion are selective for allowing a user to merely put the male portion and the female portion together in a comfortable location by virtue of the female portion being magnetically attractive to the male portion being magnetic.

Button assembly with removable cap

A button assembly includes a top assembly, an attachment body, and a resilient member. The top assembly includes a cap and a locking ring defining a receiving area, and the locking ring includes a top protrusion extending into the receiving area. The attachment body includes a locking feature that includes a body protrusion and a notched portion. The resilient member is located between the cap and the attachment body such that the cap is movable toward the attachment body. In some examples, the top assembly is selectively engageable with the attachment body by aligning the top protrusion of the locking ring with the notched portion of the locking feature, pushing the top assembly toward the attachment body, and rotating the top assembly relative to the attachment body such that the top protrusion of the locking ring is aligned with the body protrusion of the locking feature.
