A transmission light source unit includes a first light source portion including: a first light source; and a first light guide that shapes light emitted by the first light source into a line and emits the light toward a conveyance path of a paper sheet. An image sensor unit includes: a second light source portion that emits light toward the conveyance path of the paper sheet; and an image sensor that detects the light emitted by the first light source portion and transmitted through the paper sheet and the light emitted by the second light source portion and reflected by the paper sheet. A first light diffusing surface of the first light guide is provided with at least one of concave portions and convex portions including inclined surfaces and inclined relative to a normal line of the first light emission surface.

An illumination apparatus includes: a light source; a rod-like light guide having an incident surface that enters light from the light source that is disposed on one side in a main-scan direction, a diffusing surface that diffuses light that enters from the incident surface, and an emission surface that linearly emits light towards a bill; and a reflection member having a reflection surface that reflects light diffused by the diffusing surface to the light guide. The light guide has a locking projection that is locked in the reflection member on one side in the main-scan direction. The reflection member has a locking hole in which the locking projection is locked. A cut-out portion at which one part is cut out is formed in the locking hole.

A light guide body that extends in a rod shape and guides light incident from an end surface thereof to emit the light from a circumferential surface thereof, the light guide body having a shape such that according to an angle of a circumferential direction around the light guide body, an amount of emitting light in a direction of the angle is different. An illuminating device capable of stably illuminating an irradiated object such as a document while suppressing light loss with a simply structure is provided. An LED array and a reflective plate are disposed sandwiching a slit (St) through which light reflected by a document MS passes and a light-guiding member is disposed on the side of the LED array. The light-guiding member includes a direct emission unit disposed between an illumination range y centered on a document reading position and the LED array and an indirect emission unit disposed between the reflective plate and the LED array, a light incidence face of the direct emission unit and a light incidence face of the indirect emission unit are disposed at mutually different position around the LED array, and the LED array is disposed on a side of an interior angle formed by the light incidence faces.

There is provided a light guide body that extends in a rod shape and guides light incident from an end surface thereof to emit the light from a circumferential surface thereof, the light guide body having a shape such that according to an angle of a circumferential direction around the light guide body, an amount of emitting light in a directoin of the angle is different. An illuminating device capable of stably illuminating an irradiated object such as a document while suppressing light loss with a simply structure is provided. An LED array and a reflective plate are disposed sandwiching a slit (St) through which light reflected by a document MS passes and a light-guiding member is disposed on the side of the LED array. The light-guiding member includes a direct emission unit disposed between an illumination range y centered on a document reading position and the LED array and an indirect emission unit disposed between the reflective plate and the LED array, a light incidence face of the direct emission unit and a light incidence face of the indirect emission unit are disposed at mutually different position around the LED array, and the LED array is disposed on a side of an interior angle formed by the light incidence faces.
Illumination apparatus and image sensor unit including diffusing patterns with differing intervals
An illumination apparatus includes a light source and a light guide formed in a rod shape. An end surface in a longitudinal direction is an incident surface that receives light emitted from the light source. Diffusing patterns are formed on the light guide, and intervals between the diffusing patterns closer to the incident surface in a first area close to the incident surface are smaller than intervals between the diffusing patterns closer to the incident surface in a second area farther from the incident surface than the first area.

A light guide including a light scattering portion that reflects light guided inside the light guide, and a light emitting surface portion emitting light reflected by the light scattering portion to outside the light guide. A light emitting surface portion includes first and second light emitting surface portions, the first light emitting surface portion has a longer circumferential length than that of the second light emitting surface portion in the transversal cross section, and circumference curvature of the first light emitting surface portion in the transversal cross section increases away from the second light emitting surface portion. A normal line to the light scattering portion, passing through the center of the light scattering portion in the transversal cross section, intersects with the first light emitting surface portion, at a point at a near side to the second light emitting surface portion in the transversal cross section.
Illuminating device, image reading device, and image forming device including the illuminating device and the image reading device
In an image forming device, a light-guiding member includes an integrated ridge extending in the longitudinal direction of the light-guiding member. The light-guiding member further includes a protrusion on the ridge. The illuminating device includes an attachment recess that holds the light-guiding member and a holder member that has a fit portion to which a protrusion is fitted. The protrusion is disposed at a position decentered to one end portion of the light-guiding member in the longitudinal direction of the light-guiding member.

A lighting apparatus includes a first illumination portion and a second illumination portion. The first illumination portion and the second illumination portion respectively include a bar-like light guide whose shape of an end face of an end portion includes a part of a circle, an ellipse or a parabola, and light source elements that are provided to face the end face of the end portion of the light guide. In the light guide of the second illumination portion, light enters a determined range in which a focus of the shape of the end face of the end portion of the light guide is included. In the light guide of the first illumination portion, light enters a range that is not the determined range in which the focus of the shape of the end face of the light guide is included.
