Identifying document forms using digital fingerprints

Techniques are disclosed to identify a form document in an image using a digital fingerprint of the form document. To do so, the image is evaluated to detect features of the image and determine a polygon bounding each feature. For each polygon, pixels are plotted in a second image based on coordinates of a center of the polygon. The second image is the digital fingerprint of the form. To identify the form corresponding to the digital fingerprint, the digital fingerprint may be compared to digital fingerprints of known forms.

The present invention relates generally to digital watermarking. One aspect of the disclosure includes a method comprising: obtaining data representing imagery; using one or more configured processors, analyzing a plurality of portions of the data to detect a redundantly embedded watermark signal, the analyzing producing detection statistics for each of the plurality of portions, the detection statistics comprising a payload signature, a rotation angle and a scale factor for each portion of the plurality of portions; accumulating payload signatures based on compatible rotation angles and scale factors, said accumulating yielding an accumulated payload signature; and decoding a plural-bit payload from the accumulated payload signature. Of course, many other aspects and disclosure are provided in this patent document.

Identifying document forms using digital fingerprints

Techniques are disclosed to identify a form document in an image using a digital fingerprint of the form document. To do so, the image is evaluated to detect features of the image and generate a boundary around each feature. For each boundary, dimensions of the boundary may be stored in a color channel of a pixel in a second image. Thus, the color of the pixel represents the size of the boundary. The second image is the digital fingerprint of the form. To identify the form corresponding to the digital fingerprint, the digital fingerprint may be compared to digital fingerprints of known forms.

Semi-Transparent Embedded Watermarks

A watermark image may be generated that includes a first set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a first transparency value and a second set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a second transparency value, the second transparency level being different from the first transparency level. The encoded pixels may be distributed among a set of blank pixels such that each encoded pixel neighbors one or more blank pixels in the watermark image, and in particular at least two blank pixels in the watermark image. Herein, each blank pixel may be assigned the second transparency value. The watermark image may be overlaid and blended over a background source image to create an encoded source image. A decoder system may recover encoded information from the encoded source image.

Methods and Apparatus for Color Image Watermarking

A method embeds a watermark image into a host image with adaptive rectangular partition and Lower Upper (LU) decomposition such that a watermarked image is generated with improved computational complexity. The method divides a host image into an Red (R) component, a Green (G) component, and a Blue (B) component, and divides each component of the R, G, and B components into a plurality of MM size blocks, and partitions each of the plurality of MM size blocks into a plurality of non-overlapping blocks with adaptive rectangular partition. The method selects a plurality of embedding blocks from the plurality of MM size blocks for each component of the R, G, and B components of the host image to embed watermark information such that the watermarked image is generated.

Information code image display system, information code image display terminal, information code image display program, server, and information code image generating program

An information code image display system includes an area specifying part, an image generation part, and a display controller. The area specifying part specifies an area as a conversion target area, the area being a part of a base image displayed in a display area of a display part. The image generation part generates a base-image-attached information code image by applying an information code to a conversion target image corresponding to the conversion target area. The display controller displays in the display part the base-image-attached information code image and a remaining image obtained by excluding an image of the conversion target area from the base image.

Image annotation on portable devices

A system for automated annotation of images and videos points a mobile device towards an object of interest, such as a building or landscape scenery, for the device to display an image of the scene with an annotation for the object. An annotation can include names, historical information, and links to databases of images, videos, and audio files. Different techniques can be used for determining positional placement of annotations, and, by using multiple techniques, positioning can be made more precise and reliable. The level of detail of annotation information can be adjusted according to the precision of the techniques used. A trade-off can be taken into account between precision of annotation and communication cost, delay and/or power consumption. An annotation database can be updated in a self-organizing way. Public information as available on the web can be converted to annotation data.
