Method of detecting steganographically hidden images via low-order bit comparisons
The invention is a method for scanning an image data file to determine the presence of a payload, including the steps of identifying the values of one or more lower-order bits in the bytes of an uncompressed image data file to determine the distribution of values at one or more bit positions, and comparing bit position images to reveal hidden payloads from significant variations in contiguous color blocks in the bit position images not otherwise explainable from the original image.
Video signature creation and matching
In one embodiment, a system includes a processor to retrieve, from a memory, data of a video frame, the data including measurements of luminance, each of the measurements of luminance being associated with a different entry in a matrix, calculate a weighted average luminance value Ly for the measurements of luminance weighted according to a row position of the one measurement of luminance in the matrix, calculate a weighted average luminance value Lx for the measurements of luminance weighted according to a column position of the one measurement of luminance in the matrix, and create a video signature, S.sub.0, of the video frame, the video signature, S.sub.0, including the weighted average luminance value Ly and the weighted average luminance value Lx. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
HIERARCHICAL WATERMARK DETECTOR
The present invention relates generally to digital watermarking. One aspect of the disclosure includes a method comprising: obtaining data representing imagery; using one or more configured processors, analyzing a plurality of portions of the data to detect a watermark orientation component, said analyzing employing a match filter, in which the match filter yields a correlation value for each of the plurality of portions; determining a first portion from the plurality of portions that comprises a correlation value meeting a predetermined value; and directing a watermark decoder at the first portion to decode a plural-bit watermark payload, in which the watermark decoder produces a watermark signature for the first portion, and in which the watermark decoder searches a plurality of areas at or around the first portion to decode the plural-bit watermark payload. Of course, many other aspects and disclosure are provided in this patent document.
DATA HIDING FOR SPOT COLORS IN PRODUCT PACKAGING
The present disclosure relates generally to data hiding for retail product packaging and other printed objects. One embodiment embeds an information signal in a spot color for product packaging. The spot color is screened, and overprinted with process color tint. The tint is modulated prior to overprinting with optimized signal tweaks. The optimization can include consideration of a detector spectral dependency (e.g., red and/or green illumination). Many other embodiments and combinations are described in the subject patent document.
DISPLAY DEVICE PROVIDING FEEDBACK BASED ON IMAGE CLASSIFICATION
A digital image display device comprising: a display screen; a processor; a network connection for receiving digital media assets provided by a plurality of individuals; an image memory; a user interface for receiving input from a user of the digital image display device; and a program memory. The program memory stores instructions to execute the steps of: receiving a digital media asset; displaying the received digital media asset on the display screen; determining an asset classification for the displayed digital media asset; selecting a set of classified feedback message choices responsive to the determined asset classification; displaying the selected set of feedback message choices, receiving input from the user to select a particular feedback message choice; and providing an indication of the selected feedback message to the individual who provided the displayed digital media asset.
Pre-press warping arrangements for watermarks and associated graphic artworks, with related quality control techniques
Consumer product labels sometime include 2D machine readable codes, such as digital watermark patterns. When such label artwork is printed on a plastic sleeve that is then heat-shrunk to conform to a plastic container, the code can become distorted and unreadable. Various techniques are detailed to cope with this problem. Additionally, methods are disclosed to assessbefore a heat-shrink label is applied to a productthe expected final readability of any machine readable code included in the label artwork. A variety of other features and arrangements are also detailed.
Image processing apparatus and image processing method that embeds information using a pattern with directivity and a pattern without directivity
An image processing apparatus includes: a first obtaining unit configured to obtain an original image; a second obtaining unit configured to obtain region information indicating first and second regions, the first region read in reading of a print original to have a higher density than the second region, the second region read in the reading to have a lower density than the first region; an embedding unit configured to embed information in the original image by embedding a pattern with a directivity in the first region and embed, in the second region, a pattern in which the number of pixels printed adjacent to printed pixels is smaller than that in the first region; and a control unit configured to perform control of outputting the print original by using a print image in which the patterns of the first and second regions are embedded by the embedding unit.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ADDING ONE OR MORE SECURITY PATTERNS IN DOCUMENTS
The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for adding security patterns in a document submitted at a multi-function device. The method includes receiving the document at the multi-function device from a user, wherein the document includes at least textual content. Further, the method includes obtaining stamping information, wherein the stamping information includes at least one of: portion information, edge filtering criteria, and pattern information. Thereafter, document is processed to detect edges of the at least textual content. Upon detection, one or more text edges matching the edge filtering criteria are filtered from the detected edges of the at least textual content. Finally, the one or more security patterns are added to the one or more matched text edges, thereby resulting in a stamped document.
Display case with transparent display for watermarking
A display case is provided. The display case includes a transparent display for viewing an object through the transparent display and a watermarking engine configured to display a watermark on the transparent display.
