The information processing apparatus comprises a communication interface for connecting to a scanner. The information processing apparatus includes a first route and a second route. When executed by the computer, the plurality of instructions cause the information processing apparatus to execute a scan control using the first route in which a read result of a document by the scanner is obtained by using the first route after receiving an execution instruction for scanning, determine whether the scan control using the first route has failed or not, and execute a scan control using the second route in which the read result of the document by the scanner is obtained by using the second route when it is determined that the scan control using the first route has failed.

An image processing apparatus includes a display, a network interface, and a processor. The processor is configured to generate a first screen on which at least one malfunctioning part candidate of the apparatus is presented in a selectable manner, and control the interface to transmit error information corresponding to a selected malfunctioning part candidate to another apparatus. When a first malfunctioning part candidate corresponding to a particular sound output by the image processing apparatus that is not working properly is selected on the first screen, the processor generates a second screen on which one or more reference sounds potentially corresponding to the particular sound are presented in a selectable manner. When a reference sound is selected as corresponding to the particular sound on the second screen, the processor includes sound information corresponding to the selected reference sound in the error information.

An image forming apparatus manages restart setting information that defines settings related to restarting of remote connection with a computer, controls remote connection, and changes the restart setting information according to an instruction. When remote connection is terminated as a result of a function that terminates remote connection being executed, if the restart setting information includes a setting for automatically restarting remote connection, remote connection is automatically restarted and, if the restart setting information includes a setting for not automatically restarting remote connection, remote connection is not automatically restarted.

A facsimile device performing a successive broadcast to a plurality of destinations includes a memory that stores data, a transmitting unit that transmits the stored data to the destinations by calling the destinations, a determination unit that determines whether the transmission to each of the destinations is successful or unsuccessful, a transmission result holding unit that holds a result of the transmission determined by the determination unit in association with the destination, and a transmission result display unit that displays, subsequent to an end of the transmission, the result of the transmission held by the transmission result holding unit in a display form that is different between when the transmission to the destinations is successful and when the transmission to one or more of the destinations is unsuccessful.

An image forming apparatus includes a CPU. When an error occurs, the CPU notifies a user or the like of the error and adds information about the error to an error table. When the error is resolved, the CPU deletes the information about the resolved error from the error table. The CPU refers to the error table and displays, on a display, a home screen in which a badge indicating the number of unresolved errors in each operation mode is displayed. In an image forming apparatus, an event detection unit detects occurrence of an event which requires replacement of a part, a notification unit notifies guidance for replacing the part if the event detection unit detects occurrence of the event, and a control unit ends a notification of the guidance using, as conditions, a case in which a cover open to perform the replacement is set in a closed state and a case in which an input of an instruction that the replacement has completed is accepted.

Provided is an image reading apparatus in which a setting screen is displayed upon detecting that a document is placed on the document tray. In a case where a document is placed on an automatic document conveyance device, if a paper jam occurs while using the automatic document conveyance device, a screen of a paper jam is preferentially displayed even when a setting of automatically displaying a selection screen of a sheet thickness is set at the time. This prevents a specific screen desired to be continuously displayed from being hidden upon detecting that a document is placed on a document tray.
