BRIGHTNESS AND COLOR CORRECTION OF IMAGE DATA OF A LINE CAMERA
A method for brightness and color correction of image data of a line camera is disclosed, wherein, for the detecting of image data with at least two line arrays of the line camera while illuminating a detection area of the line camera with an illumination module, a gray-scale image and at least two single-color images are recorded, and the image data is corrected with the help of a brightness function of the illumination module which is dependent on a line position of the line array and/or a distance of recorded objects. The brightness function is determined for the illumination module in advance and independent of the line camera and is stored in the illumination module, and the brightness function is read out by the line camera and used for the respective correction of the gray-scale image and the single-color images.

Image processing apparatus controlling printing according to unidirectional printing method or bidirectional printing method
In an image processing apparatus, a processor sets a target printing method for printing a target image to one of a bidirectional printing method and a unidirectional printing method. In a case where the bidirectional printing method is set as the target printing method: the processor executes both a first generation process and a second generation process. The first generation process generates first partial print data by converting a set of partial image data using a first color conversion profile. The second generation process generates second partial print data by converting another set of partial image data using a second color conversion profile. In a case where the unidirectional printing method is set as the target printing method, the processor executes a third generation process generating third partial print data by converting a set of partial image data using a third color conversion profile.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus comprises a generation unit configured to generate correction information for reducing density change in image formation using a printing material including a plurality of colors. The generation unit generates correction information, sequentially in ascending order from a region of a smaller number of printing materials in a read-out image acquired by reading an image formed using a printing material including a plurality of colors, the correction information corresponding to a printing material for which correction information has not been generated among the printing materials used for the region.
Adaptive color transformation to aid computer vision
System and techniques for adaptive color transformation to aid computer vision are described herein. Colors from an image are mapped into a multi-dimensional space to create a distribution of colors in the image. A line can be fit to the distribution. Here, the line includes an angle relative to a coordinate system of the multi-dimensional space. A transformation to colors can then be applied to the image based on the angle of the line. The transformation producing a reduced image where a color complexity of the original image is reduced.
DATA HIDING FOR SPOT COLORS ON SUBSTRATES
The present disclosure relates generally to data hiding for retail product packaging and other printed objects such as substrates. One embodiment embeds an information signal in a spot color for printing on various substrates. The spot color is screened, and overprinted with process color tint. The tint is modulated prior to overprinting with optimized signal tweaks. The optimization can include consideration of a detector spectral dependency (e.g., red and/or green illumination). Many other embodiments and combinations are described in the subject patent document.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING MULTIPLEXING PROCESSING, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a determination unit configured to determine a printing area and a non-printing area in image data, and an execution unit configured to execute first multiplexing processing by changing a U component in a YUV color space with respect to an area determined as a printing area in the image data and to execute second multiplexing processing by changing a Y component in a CMYK color space with respect to an area determined as a non-printing area in the image data.
Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and storage medium
In a predetermined look-up table, in which each of a plurality of grid points that are defined by dividing each axis of RGB color coordinates is associated with a combination of density values respectively corresponding to a plurality of inks to be used by a printing apparatus, the plurality of grid points include a plurality of first grid points, at which a density value of a predetermined ink among the plurality of inks does not correspond to 0, and a second grid point, at which the density value of the predetermined ink corresponds to 0, and the plurality of first grid points do not exist at points adjacent to each other in the plurality of grid points.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-EXECUTABLE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus includes circuitry. The circuitry acquires a first colorimetric value of a target color mixture from a chart printed out in a first state. The circuitry acquires a second colorimetric value of an adjacent color mixture and acquires a second colorimetric value of an adjacent color mixture from a chart printed out in a second state. The circuitry acquires a third colorimetric value of a pre-correction color mixture. The circuitry adds a difference between the first colorimetric value and the second colorimetric value to the third colorimetric value and calculates a predicted colorimetric. The circuitry determines whether a color difference between the predicted colorimetric value and the first colorimetric value. The circuitry acquires, as a correction value, the second gradation value corresponding to the second colorimetric value. The circuitry corrects a corresponding one of the one or more first gradation values by using the correction value.
