COLOR CALIBRATION IN A PRINTING SYSTEM
Certain examples described herein relate to adjusting a printing system. In certain cases, a lookup table, LUT, is obtained where the lookup table comprises a plurality of nodes that map a plurality of input first color space values to a plurality of Neugebauer Primary area coverage, NPac, vectors in a second color space and each NPac vector comprises at least one Neugebauer Primary, NP. Each NPac vector in the LUT is adjusted by the determination of a colorimetric value of the NPac vector and the modification of the NPac vector based on a characteristic of the corresponding at least one NP and the colorimetric value such that the modification is specific to the NPac vector. The lookup table is updated with the modified NPac vector and stored for referral by the printing system in any future printing.
PRINTING DEVICES
An example printing device and method of the printing device is disclosed. A print substance formulation is modulated based on the process characteristic for a selected medium. A print substance is delivered to the selected medium according to the modulated print substance formulation.
COLOR TABLES
A color table is modulated. The color table includes nodes that correspond with a color input in a first color space and provides a print substance formulation in a second color space. For a set of the nodes, a determination is made as to whether a color amount based on the print substance formulation is outside of threshold value. For each node in which the color amount for the node is outside the threshold value, the print substance formulation is replaced with a replacement print substance formulation having a color amount that is within the threshold value.
PRINT PROPERTY CONTROL
Certain examples relate to configuring a print processing system to produce rendered color outputs based on desired properties of said outputs using resources available to the print processing system. In these examples, print job data is received comprising image data and print property data. Color mapping data is configured to produce print mapping data based on at least the print property data. Print instructions for an image rendering device are generated based on the print mapping data. The print properties may be selectable by a user. Color mapping data may be characterized by color properties.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
The occurrence of image quality adverse effects, such as interference fringes and color bleeding, is suppressed for an object including a spot color adjustment-target color. In a case where a spot color adjustment function is made use of, the same color separation table is caused to be applied uniformly, instead of switching color separation tables to be applied to an adjustment-target color depending on whether the object attribute is text/line/graphics, or image.
Device and method for controlling color gamut, and display device including the device
A device for controlling a color gamut includes: a color mapping module which converts a source image signal, based on a first color gamut look-up table; and a color gamut shift module which sets a second color gamut look-up table, based on a grayscale value determined corresponding to an external factor or user setting. When the color gamut shift module is enabled, the color mapping module converts the source image signal, based on the second color gamut look-up table.
Image processing apparatus, image processing method, and computer-readable medium
An image processing apparatus includes: an acquisition unit configured to acquire a plurality of first color values in a device independent color space, from information defining a predetermined gamut; a setting unit configured to set predetermined first dot percentages of a fluorescent color for the plurality of first color values acquired by the acquisition unit; a calculation unit configured to calculate a second dot percentage of the fluorescent color, based on a relationship between the plurality of first color values and the first dot percentages, the second dot percentage corresponding to an arbitrary second color value in the color space; and a generation unit configured to generate a first profile to convert the second color value to dot percentages of a process color and the fluorescent color, based on the second color value and the second dot percentage calculated by the calculation unit.
RECORDING SYSTEM
A recording system includes a recording head including a plurality of nozzles configured to discharge liquid, and a control unit configured to control the recording head. The control unit is configured to control discharge of the liquid by the recording head based on a total discharge amount, of the liquid, corresponding to a color of input data, and perform control to discharge a peak total discharge amount of the liquid when a predetermined color belonging to a first range in a color space of the input data is input as the color of the input data, the peak total discharge amount is greater than the total discharge amount corresponding to a darkest portion of the color space, and the first range is a range of 1/25.5 or less excluding the darkest portion when the darkest portion is 0 and a brightest portion of the color space is 1.
FULLY INTEGRATED DIGITAL COLOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The present invention provides a fully integrated digital workflow for the designing and production of packaging. A designer creates a package design with a special effect ink digitally, using a computer connected to a color database and a special effect ink database.
Advantageously, the present workflow minimizes the complexity of the workflow by using transparent color layers printed over plain special effect additive ink layers to develop the special effect inks to be used on press. The present workflow advantageously can also be used to assess match of polychromatic inks.
Performing color conversion that acquires a sample color included in second image data
In a case where a sample color is outside a color reproduction range of an image forming apparatus, there arises an issue that an adjustment target color cannot be brought close to a user-desired color. An image forming apparatus includes a generation unit configured to cause a printing unit to print a plurality of colors close to an acquired sample color and generate a color conversion table based on a user-selected color among the plurality of printed colors in a case where it is determined that the acquired sample color is outside a color reproduction range of the image forming apparatus, whereas in a case where it is determined that the acquired sample color is not outside the color reproduction range, the generation unit generates a color conversion table without causing the printing unit to print the plurality of colors close to the sample color.
