Disclosed is an image processing apparatus including: a derivation unit configured to derive a target luminance characteristic based on a viewing condition of an image and a print luminance characteristic predicted based a reflection characteristic corresponding to data thereon; a unit configured to generate print image data on an image by converting input image data by using a tone conversion characteristic that is set based on these characteristics, in which the derivation unit derives, in a case where a reproduction range of an illumination intensity in the print luminance characteristic is different, the target luminance characteristic so that a liner area of an output luminance in a case where the reproduction range is relatively large becomes large.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, CONTROL APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus is an apparatus for displaying an image corresponding to a printed product observed in a predetermined observation environment on a monitor. An image obtaining unit obtains an HDR image. A lighting luminance obtaining unit obtains a lighting luminance in the predetermined observation environment. A monitor luminance changing unit changes a luminance of the monitor according to the lighting luminance. A preview image generating unit converts the HDR image according to the lighting luminance. A preview image outputting unit outputs converted image data to the monitor having the luminance thereof changed.
APPEARANCE ATTRIBUTES
An example appearance calibration system includes a profile engine that identifies a printer setting corresponding to a non-color appearance attribute of an image source and a setting engine that sets a printer setting corresponding to the non-color appearance attribute. An example set of instructions may cause a processor resource to identify a setting corresponding to a printer component that affects an appearance attribute and provide layer appearance information representing a degree of the appearance attribute identified using a look-up table. An example method of appearance matching among a plurality of printers is described. In the example method, a plurality of appearance attributes controllable between a first printer and a second printer is identified, a degree of each attribute compatible with the first and second printer is determined, and instructions are prepared for the first and second printer using the degree of each attribute compatible with the first and second printer.
Apparatus, system, and method
An apparatus is configured to determine an illumination condition for irradiating a printed product with light. The printed product is generated by outputting an image onto a recording medium based on fed input image data. The apparatus includes an input unit configured to receive inputs of luminance dynamic range information of the input image data and exposure condition information at the time of imaging regarding the input image data, an acquisition unit configured to acquire characteristic information of the recording medium, and a determination unit configured to determine the illumination condition based on the luminance dynamic range information, the exposure condition information, and the characteristic information.
Image processing apparatus, image forming apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable medium with printing using a special color material with specific absorption properties
An image processing apparatus includes a reception unit and a conversion unit. The reception unit receives as a designated color a color of an image desired to be seeable when irradiated with light at a specific wavelength. The conversion unit converts, when converting image data on an image to be printed into print data, a color value of the designated color received by the reception unit into a color value including a value for outputting a special color material that has absorption properties for the light at the specific wavelength.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMICALLY MODIFYING VISUAL CONTENT TO ACCOUNT FOR USER VISUAL IMPAIRMENT
Embodiments disclosed herein provide for systems and methods of dynamically modifying visual content to account for user visual impairments. The systems and methods provide for a plurality of generative adversarial networks, each associated with a corresponding style transfer, wherein the style transfer uniquely transforms the color mapping of a content template based on responses to at least one visual impairment test.
CORRECTION OF MEASUREMENT CONDITIONS IN DIGITAL PRINTING MACHINES
A method performs color control in a printing operation on a printing machine by use of a computer. The computer uses an input profile to transform print image data from a first color space to a device-independent color space, subsequently uses an output profile to transform the print image data into a second color space dependent on the printing machine. The computer compares measurement conditions of the used input profile and of the output profile to be generated, and, if there are differences between the respective measurement conditions, adapts the print image data in the device-independent color space to deviating measurement conditions of the output profile. The printing machine subsequently executes the printing operation using the print image data, and wherein UV light excitation is used for the measurement conditions of the output profile.
Reproduction color profile correction device, reproduction color profile correction method, and computer-readable medium including reproduction color profile correction program
A reproduction color profile correction system includes, a differential colorimetric value calculator which calculates a differential colorimetric value that is a difference between a predicted colorimetric value and a measured colorimetric value, the predicted colorimetric value being a colorimetric value of a predicted reproduction color corresponding to a process ink combination of an ink combination, and a measured colorimetric value being a colorimetric value obtained by measuring a reproduction color in a color chart corresponding to the process ink combination, and a colorimetric value corrector which corrects, by using the differential colorimetric value, a predicted colorimetric value of a reproduction color reproduced by the ink combination.
Display mapping for high dynamic range images
Methods for mapping an image from one dynamic range to another dynamic range are presented. The mapping is based on a sigmoid-like function determined by three anchor points. The first anchor point is determined using the black point levels of a reference and a target display, the second anchor point is determined using the white point levels of the reference and target displays, and the third anchor point is determined using mid-tones information data for the input image and the mid-tones level of the target display. The mid-tones level of the target display is computed adaptively based on a desired range of constant brightness and a mapping function. The mapping function mapping may be piece-wise linear (in the log domain), piece-wise continuous, or a sigmoid. Examples for mapping high dynamic range images to standard dynamic range displays are presented.
Print control apparatus and method of controlling the same
A print control apparatus that realizes printed matter that appears suitably in a case of observation by reflected light and in a case of observation by transmitted light is disclosed. The print control apparatus, based on data of a source image, generates first print data to be used for printing to a first surface of a recording medium. The print control apparatus also, based on data of the source image, generates second print data that is used for printing to a second surface that is different to the first surface and that represents a higher luminance range, in a luminance range that the data of the source image represents, than a luminance range that the first print data represents.
