A color management system includes an information processing apparatus for managing each of a plurality of print sites each including a printing apparatus and manages colors of an image printed by the printing. The information processing apparatus notifies the printing apparatus of a change of a setting of a color management setting. The printing apparatus prints an image in accordance with the color management setting and measures the printed image, and determines whether the measured result of the colorimetric measurement satisfies a preset criterion. If the criterion is not satisfied, the printing apparatus instructs to execute color adjustment processing, and if the change of the setting includes a change concerning a first setting, determines whether printing by the change of the setting is possible, and if the printing is not possible, makes a warning.
Image processing apparatus and control method therefor
An image processing apparatus comprises: an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recording medium using a plurality of color materials on the basis of first image data showing an image; and an estimating unit configured to estimate a characteristic of each one of the plurality of color materials in a target region on the formed image on the basis of second image data obtained by reading the formed image. The estimating unit selects an estimation processing unit to use from among a plurality of estimation processing units used for different estimation methods on the basis of a combination of the color materials in the target region.
RECORDING APPARATUS
There is provided a recording apparatus including: a recording part configured to perform a recording of an image onto a recording medium with a recording material; and a controller configured to adjust, based on an adjustment value, an amount of the recording material which is to be used at a time of the recording. The controller is configured to execute, based on an index value regarding dirtiness, a changing processing of changing at least one of the adjustment value and a value regarding the adjustment value, in a direction of decreasing the amount of the recording material.
PREDICTED PRINT MATERIAL USAGE ADJUSTMENT
The location of a printing device is determined. Environmental conditions in which the printing device operated when printing a print job are determined based on the determined location. An environmental adjustment factor for the printing device is determined based on the determined environmental conditions. A predicted print material usage of the printing device in printing the print job is adjusted based on the determined environmental adjustment factor.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a first printer configured to print on a medium using a first material, a second printer configured to print on the medium using a second material that turns invisible when a first condition is satisfied, and a controller configured to: control the first printer to print on the medium a first symbol that is machine-readable and associated with first information, and control the second printer to print a second symbol on the medium on which the first symbol has been printed. A composite symbol of the first and second symbols is machine-readable and associated with second information different from the first information.

An image processing method includes dividing a desired image into a normal region formed with partial images and a joint region formed by overlapping the partial images, first converting image data in an RGB color space corresponding to the normal region into normal region CMYK data in a CMYK color space using a normal region LUT, second converting the image data in the RGB color space corresponding to the joint region into joint region CMYK data in the CMYK color space using a joint region LUT derived based on attribute information of the printing medium and environmental information of an environment in which the printing apparatus is to perform printing, and generating printing data based on the normal region CMYK data and the joint region CMYK data.
