DATA HIDING FOR SPOT COLORS ON SUBSTRATES

The present disclosure relates generally to data hiding for retail product packaging and other printed objects such as substrates. One embodiment embeds an information signal in a spot color for printing on various substrates. The spot color is screened, and overprinted with process color tint. The tint is modulated prior to overprinting with optimized signal tweaks. The optimization can include consideration of a detector spectral dependency (e.g., red and/or green illumination). Many other embodiments and combinations are described in the subject patent document.

A display device includes an obtainer and a display controller. The obtainer obtains information on at least one special color to be printed, the information being information on the at least one special color with respect to at least one basic color. The display controller performs control to display a portion where the at least one special color is to be printed in accordance with a color value corresponding to a degree of transparency obtained from the information on the at least one special color, which is obtained by the obtainer.

System and method for applying a reflectance modifying agent to change a person's appearance based on a digital image

A computer-controlled system determines attributes of a frexel, which is an area of human skin, and applies a reflectance modifying agent (RMA) at the pixel level to automatically change the appearance of human features based on one or more digital images. The change may be based on a digital image of the same frexel, for as seen in a prior digital photograph captured previously by the computer-controlled system. The system scans the frexel and uses feature recognition software to compare the person's current features in the frexel with that person's features in the digital image. It then calculates enhancements to the make the current features appear more like the features in the digital image, and it applies the RMA to the frexel to accomplish the enhancements. Or the change may be based on a digital image of another person, through the application of RMAs.

IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM

An image processing apparatus includes a specifying unit, an extraction unit, and a creation unit. The specifying unit specifies, for one image among a first image before color conversion and a second image after color conversion, an area for which image information is extracted. The extraction unit extracts plural pieces of color conversion information, which are image information about pixels in the area of the one image among the first image and the second image, the area being specified by the specifying unit, and image information about pixels in the other image corresponding to the pixels in the one image. The creation unit creates a color conversion property on the basis of the plural pieces of color conversion information extracted by the extraction unit.

COLOR CONVERSION DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM

A color conversion device includes a receiving unit receiving colorimetric values obtained by measuring plural target-color images of different tones from plural directions; a memory storing a color conversion model associating a combination of colorimetric direction and color material amounts of respective colors and actually measured color values; and a converter converting the colorimetric values into color values including values indicative of amounts of glittering color material and other color materials, wherein the converter calculates, for each target-color image, a weighted average of color differences between colorimetric values of the target-color image in colorimetric directions and color values in the colorimetric directions obtained from the model by using preset weighting coefficients and selects a combination of weighting coefficients that makes tone characteristics closest to tone characteristics of the target-color images by changing the weighting coefficients when a combination of color material amounts minimizing the weighted average is determined.

Distortion of digital images using spatial offsets from image reference points

A method for distorting a digital image comprising receiving the coordinates of one or more than one image reference point defined by a user within the digital image, receiving one or more than one spatial offset assigned by the user and associated with the coordinates of the one or more than one defined image reference point, providing a mixing function algorithm embodied on a computer-readable medium for distorting the digital image, calculating an offset matrix by applying the mixing function algorithm based on the one or more than one spatial offset and the coordinates of the one or more than one defined image reference point; and distorting the digital image by application of the offset matrix. A graphic tag may be associated with each of the defined image reference points and displayed over the digital image, and the assignment of the spatial offset may be accomplished by movement of the graphic tag with the pointing device. Abstract image reference points may be used to limit distortion.

Devices, systems and methods for auto-delay video presentation
10109315 · 2018-10-23 · ·

A computer implemented method for automatic presentation of delayed video. During normal operation real-time video feed is sent to a digital screen for presentation and is also sent to memory for storage. When a delay trigger is issued, the system either freezes the frame presented in that instance or stores a time indicator. The system then monitors delay time and, when the delay time is reached, the system starts fetching frames from the memory, starting either from the frame immediately following the frozen frame or from the frame that was stored at the time indicator, and sends these frames to the digital screen for presentation. The system then monitors delay period and, when the delay period arrive, the system reverts to normal mode wherein real-time video feed is sent to a digital screen for presentation and is also sent to memory for storage.
