FRAME SYNCRHONIZATION IN A DUAL-APERTURE CAMERA SYSTEM

A dual-aperture camera comprising a first camera having a first sensor and a first image signal processor (ISP), the first camera operative to output a first stream of frames, a second camera having a second sensor and a second ISP, the second camera operative to output a second stream of frames, and a synchronization and operation control module configurable to control operation of one camera in a fully operational mode and operation of the other camera in a partially operational mode and to output an output of the fully operational camera as a dual-aperture camera output, whereby the partially operational mode of the other camera reduces a dual-aperture camera the power consumption in comparison with a full operational mode of the other camera.

A first imaging device and a second image device are connected with each other in a communicatable manner, and data of imaging timing and data of an exposure period of the first imaging device are transmitted to the second imaging device. In the second imaging device, the imaging timing and the exposure period can be set based on the data of the imaging timing and the data of the exposure period which are received. Therefore, an image is taken by the first imaging device and the second imaging device with the imaging timing and the exposure period of the first imaging device agreeing with those of the second imaging device.

Multiple camera synchronization system

A system for at least substantially plesiochronously operating a receiver in communication with a plurality of cameras (e.g., at least two plesiochronously operational cameras) is described. In one or more implementations, the system includes a plurality of cameras. Each camera is configured to generate a signal for transmission via a communications link, and the signal comprises data packets encoded in a forward channel. The system also includes a receiver communicatively coupled to the plurality of cameras via the single-ended communications link. The receiver is configured to generate a synchronization data based upon at least one of the data packets. The receiver is also configured to modulate the signal to encode the synchronization data in a reverse channel so that the signal comprises the forward channel data and the reverse channel data simultaneously.

Imaging apparatus

An imaging apparatus includes a rolling shutter type first image sensor and second image sensor, a timing generator that controls operation timings of these two image sensors, and a controller that subjects generated image data to image processing and controls the timing generator. The first image sensor captures an image of a subject to generate first image data, and the second image sensor captures an image of the subject to generate second image data. Each of the first image data and the second image data has a duplicate region in which the subject is partly duplicated. The controller controls the timing generator in such a way that a period over which the first image sensor exposes lines within the duplicate region in the first image data coincides with a period over which the second image sensor exposes lines within the duplicate region in the second image data.

Synchronizing media devices

Synchronizing media devices can include generating a synchronization schedule based on a frequency of generation of one or more timecode packets. Each timecode packet of the one or more time packets includes a timecode. A timecode can be expressed in hours, minutes, seconds, and frames. One or more media devices are synchronized using the synchronization schedule.

A system includes at least two capture devices, each switchable from a respective idle mode to a respective recording mode upon receipt of a trigger signal from a trigger via a network. A controller saves data packets generated by the capture devices during the respective idle modes to a short-term memory, and saves data packets generated during the respective recording modes to a long-term memory such that the data packets form respective saved data streams. The synchronizer sends a sync signal to the capture devices via the network. The compensator determines respective delay periods between sending of the sync signal by the synchronizer and receipt of the sync signal by each of the capture devices, and transfers from the short-term memory to the long-term memory any data packets generated during the respective delay period.

Video synchronization apparatus is a video synchronization apparatus including a processor and a storage connected to the processor. The processor performs a detection step of detecting a first feature point in a first image frame in a first video, and a second feature point in each of a plurality of second image frames in a second video. The processor further performs an extraction step of extracting matching points that are a set of the first feature point and a second feature point that is similar to the first feature point, and a synchronization step of determining a second image frame to be synchronized with the first image frame, based on a first degree of satisfaction, by a matching point in each second image frame, of a first geometric relationship between the each second image frame and the first image frame.

Networked programmable master clock base stations

Methods and systems for transmitting timecode and metadata to networked devices can include identifying one or more network devices capable of receiving timecode and sync information, generating a communication signal comprising timecode and sync information by a device having an internal clock, distributing the communication signal over a network to the identified network devices, and synchronizing the identified networked devices during an event.
