Security of paired storage drives
Robust, computationally-efficient and secure systems, devices and automated processes are described for storing content on a disk drive or other storage device that is supplied to a media encoder or other host device. The user-supplied drive may be used, for example, to store content in a digital video recorder (DVR) or the like. The host device creates two separate digital identifiers that separately identify the host device and the user, respectively, so that subsequent pairing can be performed based upon either identifier. The two identifiers are stored on the storage device and rendered upon subsequent pairing for validation by the host device.
Video recording apparatus and video recording verification system, and video recording method and video verification method
A video recording apparatus includes an illumination apparatus applying a modulated illumination light, a control apparatus controlling the illumination apparatus, an imaging apparatus imaging the illumination light and an object at the same time to generate video data; and a storage apparatus storing the video data generated by the imaging apparatus. The control apparatus generates encrypted data by using at least a portion of the video data imaged by the imaging apparatus and encryption information generated as information changing in accordance with a date and time and used for encryption and controls the illumination apparatus such that the illumination light is modulated by the generated encrypted data.
Systems and methods for establishing and enforcing transaction-based restrictions using hybrid public-private blockchain ledgers
The disclosed embodiments include computerized systems and methods that generate secured blockchain-based ledger structures that facilitate event-based control of tracked assets. In one embodiment, an apparatus associated with a rules authority of the secured blockchain-based ledger may obtain data indicative of an initiated transfer of funds between parties, and may access and decrypt a set of restrictions imposed on the initiated transfer and a set of rules associated with the restrictions, which may hashed into the secured blockchain-based ledger using a confidentially-held master cryptographic key. The apparatus may determine that the initiated transfer violates at least one of the restrictions, and may perform operations consistent with at least one of the rules associated with the at least one violated restriction.
Systems and method for tracking behavior of networked devices using hybrid public-private blockchain ledgers
The disclosed embodiments include computerized systems and methods for generating secured blockchain-based ledger data structures that track an ownership and usage of one or more assets, such as Internet-connected devices. In one instance, an apparatus associated with a rules authority of the secured blockchain-based ledger may detect an occurrence of a triggering event, and may access and decrypt a set of rules hashed into the secured blockchain-based ledger using a confidentially-held master cryptographic key. The apparatus may identify a rule associated with the detected event, and perform one or more operations consistent with the rule, including a determination of metrics indicative of a care, risk, and/or valuation of one or more of the Internet-connected devices, and additionally or alternatively, a modification of an operational or communicative functionality of the Internet-connected devices.
Systems and methods for implementing hybrid public-private block-chain ledgers
The disclosed embodiments include computerized systems and methods that generate secured distributed storage ledger structures, such as block-chain-based ledger structures, that facilitate event-based control of tracked assets. In one embodiment, an apparatus associated with a centralized authority of the secured distributed storage ledger may detect an occurrence of a triggering event, and may access and decrypt a set of rules hashed into the secured distributed storage ledger using a confidentially-held master cryptographic key. The apparatus may identify a rule associated with the detected event, and perform one or more operations consistent with the rule and involving at least one of assets tracked within the secured distributed storage ledger or an owner of a portion of the tracked assets.
DIGITAL LEDGER CAMERA AND IMAGE FUNCTIONS
A camera module includes an imaging sensor that outputs raw image sensor data representative of a scene and an imaging logic engine that processes the raw image sensor data into image data in a predetermined image format. The imaging logic engine carries out a hash function to generate a hash of the image data and adds a genesis block of a digital ledger as part of the image data so that the genesis block is part of the image data in an image file output by the camera module, the genesis block containing the hash.
Document tracking on distributed ledger
An apparatus for use in electronic document control includes a storage device a processor coupled to the storage device. The storage device storing software instructions for controlling the processor that when executed by the processor configure the processor to: receive a signal representing data including an original document, append a unique identifier to the original document to generate a modified document, generate a hash value of the modified document, and transmit the hash value corresponding to the modified document to an electronic distributed ledger.
SECURE REAL-TIME PRODUCT OWNERSHIP TRACKING USING DISTRIBUTED ELECTRONIC LEDGERS
A processor receives a signal representing data including event information detailing an event involving an entity having a registered ownership interest in a product and loads a portion of a distributed electronic ledger for tracking ownership information associated with the product. The distributed electronic ledger includes, within a block thereof and associated with the product, an event trigger list including entity data associated with each entity having a registered ownership interest in the product and a rules engine including rules associated with event triggers in the event trigger list. The processor determines whether a triggering event corresponding to the event is stored in the event trigger list and, when the event has a corresponding triggering event, determines the associated rule within the rules engine. The processor updates and saves the distributed electronic ledger by performing an action specified by the determined associated rule.
SECURITY OF PAIRED STORAGE DRIVES

The user-supplied drive may be used, for example, to store content in a digital video recorder (DVR) or the like.
