METHOD OF PLAYING SYSTEM STREAM FILES WITH DIFFERENT RECORDING FORMATS
A playback method and a playback device for playing a system stream file are provided. The playback method uses the playback device having one or more memories and circuitry to play the system stream file. The playback method includes reading the system stream file and identifying whether the system stream file to be played back is a first system stream file having a first file format or a second system stream file having a second file format. If the system stream file to be played back is the first system stream file, the method further includes converting a file format of the system stream file that has been read out from the first file format into the second file format. The playback method further includes decoding the system stream file having the second file format.
SECURE TRANSFER OF PREVIOUSLY BROADCASTED CONTENT
A method and apparatus for secure transfer of previously broadcasted content enables the secure transfer of previously broadcasted content between DVRs on a computer network.
DIGITAL INFORMATION RECORDING APPARATUS, REPRODUCING APPARATUS AND TRANSMITTING APPARATUS
A digital information recording apparatus includes a recording circuit for recording information of a retention period included in the digital information and indicating a period for permitting the digital information to be held in the recording medium, starting with a time at which the digital information is recorded on the recording medium; and information of a playback permission period included in the digital information and indicating a period for permitting the digital information to be played back starting with a time at which the information is reproduced initially following recording of the digital information on the recording medium, permitting temporary recording or copying for the information permitted for copy never or copy one generation.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ENCRYPTING CAMERA MEDIA
Apparatus and methods for encrypting captured media. In one embodiment, the method includes capturing media data via use of a lens of an image capture apparatus; obtaining a number used only once (NONCE) value from the captured media data; obtaining an encryption key for use in encryption of the captured media data; using the obtained NONCE value and the obtained encryption key for encrypting the captured media data; and storing the encrypted media data. In some variants, the media is encrypted prior to storage, thereby obviating any instances in which the captured media data resides in a wholly unencrypted instance. Apparatus and methods for decrypting encrypted captured media are also disclosed.
Method of playing system stream files with different recording formats
A playback method using a playback device that plays a system stream file is provided. The playback device includes an individual decryption key that is owned individually by each of playback devices, and a common decryption key that is owned in common by a plurality of playback devices. The system stream file includes a first system stream file configured to be played back using both the individual decryption key and the common decryption key, and a second system stream file configured to be played back using only the common decryption key among the individual decryption key and the common decryption key. The method includes identifying whether the system stream file to be playback is the first system stream file or the second system stream file, in accordance with a file extension of the system stream file, and selecting a decryption process of the system stream file.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A configuration is realized in which block encryption MMT format data is reproduced by applying a time stamp. An MMT format stream file and a reproduction control information file are generated and recorded in a medium. The stream file includes encryption block data to which an encryption key generated by using an additional header in which copy control information of a block unit is stored, as a seed, is applied, and the additional header. Position identification information capable of determining a position of reproduction data, a position of the seed to be applied to decoding of the reproduction data, a position of the time stamp, and a position of the seed to be applied to decoding of the time stamp is recorded in the reproduction control information file. Data decoding, and reproduction to which the time stamp is applied are performed by using recording information.
Copy count for DTCP with an abbreviation hash used for check in copy
A Digital Rights Management (DRM) system is provided that reduces time for a move transaction using DTCP-IP when a copy is moved back or checked back in to an originating Personal Video Recorder (PVR). During a DTCP MOVE transaction, instead of transferring the full asset in a check back in operation to the PVR, a unique and abbreviated representation of the original copy of the asset would be made for the transfer. This abbreviated representation takes the form of a hash constructed from a hashing function which uses characteristics of the asset as inputs. This hash will have to be a unique and near guaranteed indicator of the original content, to a high probability, so that the copy control system could live up to the spirit of the DTCP spec and the DLNA interoperability guidelines.
System and method for controlled copying and moving of content between devices and domains based on conditional encryption of content key depending on usage state
A system and method is disclosed for allowing content providers to protect against widespread copying of their content, while enabling them to give their customers more freedom in the way they use the content. In accordance with one embodiment, content providers identify their content as protected by watermarking the content. Consumers use compliant devices to access protected content. All of a user's compliant devices, or all of a family's devices, can be organized into an authorized domain. This authorized domain is used by content providers to create a logical boundary in which they can allow users increased freedom to use their content.
Video processing device
Provided is a video processing device that generates a display video signal to be supplied to a liquid crystal display having a liquid crystal that is driven by a frame inversion scheme and includes a control microcomputer and a video signal processor. The control microcomputer controls a data enable signal such that a display invalid section having a predetermined number of fields is set for an interlace video signal at a predetermined period based on a vertical synchronization signal included in the interlace video signal input from outside. The video signal processor generates the display video signal by setting the display invalid section for the interlace video signal based on the data enable signal and outputs the display video signal to the liquid crystal display.
