LASER-ILLUMINATED DISPLAYS WITH ENHANCED UNIFORMITY AND/OR EYE SAFETY
A display for displaying an image to a viewer includes an image generator having an illumination subsystem generating illumination of at least a first color, the image generator employing the illumination to generate an image. Projection optics projects illumination from the image for display to the viewer. The illumination subsystem includes a first laser generating a first laser beam of the first color with a first polarization and a second laser generating a second laser beam of the first color with a second polarization. The first and second polarizations are orthogonal at at least one location within the projection optics, thereby projecting a quasi-unpolarized image.
PROJECTOR AND PROJECTION SYSTEM
A projector and a projection system are provided. The projection system includes the projector and a mobile device. The projector receives an audio-visual signal coming from the mobile device via a default wireless domain when the projector is connected to the mobile device, and outputs an image according to the audio-visual signal. The projector also charges the mobile device.
Illumination system and projection device
An illumination system includes an excitation light source, a first variable focus lens, a second variable focus lens, and a control unit. The excitation light source is adapted to provide an excitation light beam. The first variable focus lens is disposed on a transmission path of the excitation light beam. The first variable focus lens is located between the excitation light source and the second variable focus lens. The second variable focus lens is adapted to receive the excitation light beam exited from the first variable focus lens. The control unit is electrically connected to the first variable focus lens and the second variable focus lens, and is adapted to synchronously adjust focal lengths of the first variable focus lens and the second variable focus lens. A projection device including the above-mentioned illumination system of the invention is further provided.
COMPACT NEAR EYE DISPLAY ENGINE
An apparatus for a near eye display includes an optical waveguide coupler adapted to be optically coupled to one or more light sources, a first prism optically coupled to the optical waveguide coupler, a second prism coupled to the first prism where the first prism faces a first side of the second prism, a spatial light modulator (SLM) optically coupled to the second prism where the SLM faces a second side of the second prism, and focusing optics optically coupled to the second prism where the focusing optics face a third side of the second prism.
Laser projection device, method for operating same, and laser projector
A laser projection device that includes at least one laser diode for generating at least one laser beam, and at least one movable mirror element for deflecting the at least one laser beam. The laser projection device includes at least one control and/or regulation unit that is designed to control and/or regulate a brightness of the at least one laser beam as a function of a relative deflection speed of the at least one laser beam.
Methods and apparatus for angular and spatial modulation of light
A light projection system, including a light source to provide an output beam of light, an angular light modulator (ALM) comprising a plurality of pixels, each pixel having an ON state and an OFF state, the ALM positioned to receive output beam on the plurality of pixels, and a processor coupled to the ALM. The processor is programmed to control a first set of the pixels to transition between the OFF state and the ON state while the beam is incident on the pixels. An amount of light is selectively directed in a direction by the first set. The processor is also programmed to control a second set of the plurality of pixels to remain in the OFF state while the beam is incident on the plurality of pixels. As a result, the ALM operates as a spatial light modulator and an angular light modulator of the beam of light.
