Recording medium, reproducing apparatus, and reproducing method

In a recording medium on which is recorded a multiplexed stream including a plurality of first packets (V_main) constituting a first I-picture in a first video stream and a plurality of second packets (V_sub) constituting a second I-picture in a second video stream, information for identifying the first I-picture and information for identifying the second I-picture are recorded on the medium. A recording medium can thereby be obtained that enables the rapid detection, from a small amount of information, of a particular picture included in a stream such as a TS in which multiple content streams are multiplexed.

AUTOMATIC PLAYBACK OVERSHOOT CORRECTION SYSTEM
20190057720 · 2019-02-21 ·

An automatic playback overshoot correction system predicts the position in the program material where the user expects to be when the user stops the fast forward progression of the program material. The system determines the position where the program material was stopped and transitions to the new mode that the user selected, starting at the stopped position with an overshoot correction factor subtracted from it. The system uses a prediction method to correctly place the user within the program upon transition out of fast forward mode and determines if the speed of the fast forward mode and then automatically subtracts a time multiple to the frame where the transition was detected and positions the user at the correct frame. The time multiple is fine tuned if the user is consistently correcting after the fast forward mode stops.

Information recording/reproducing apparatus

Module compressing/encoding plural images for recording, or an image recording apparatus or image recording system including the module. At least two first and second image input module types capture an image of frames from a video signal source, and convert into digital image data for output; an image input arbitration module arbitrates to place digital image data provided by the first type before digital image data provided by the second type. The first type image input module is provided with a real-time image. The apparatus or system further includes: a memory module temporarily storing the real-time image by a processing time for the arbitration module to process digital image data provided by the second type of image input module, an image encoding module compressing and encoding the digital image data, and changing a processing speed to perform a process of compression and encoding more in real time.

Multimedia visual progress indication system

A multimedia visual progress indication system that provides a cache bar that is overlaid onto the program material or displayed on a dedicated display. A cache bar indicates the length of a recording session or the length of stored program material and expands to the right when material is being recorded. Index and/or bookmark indicators are displayed next to the cache bar. A position indicator moves within the cache bar and tells the user visually where his current position is within the program material. Numeric time or counter mark of the current position is displayed in the vicinity of the cache bar. The trick play bar and its associated components are displayed for a predetermined time period.

IMAGE POINT OF INTEREST ANALYSER WITH ANIMATION GENERATOR

An apparatus comprising a point of interest analyser configured to define at least one region within an image as an interest region, determine a position associated with the at least one region; an audio track generator configured to determine at least one audio signal based on the position; and an animated presentation generator configured to generate an animated image comprising the at least one region and the at least one audio signal.

Storage medium storing a video reproduction controlling program, video reproduction controlling apparatus and video reproduction controlling method

A game apparatus as a video reproduction controlling apparatus includes a CPU, and the CPU executes a reproduction control of a DVD. In the middle of reproducing the DVD, a content such as an video, a voice, etc. are reproduced. In a case that a reproduction operation such as pause, reproduction, fast reverse, fast forward, heading, etc. is not prohibited, in response to an instruction of the reproduced screen displayed on the monitor with a controller, an operation panel for reproduction operation is displayed. On the other hand, while a menu is reproduced or in a case that a screen button is displayed in accordance with the reproduction, the reproduction operation is prohibited, and even if the reproduced screen is instructed with the controller, the operation panel is not displayed.

Distributed database management system

A distributed database management system provides a central database resident on a server that contains database objects. Objects, e.g., program guide data, to be replicated are gathered together into distribution packages called slices, that are transmitted to client devices. A slice is a subset of the central database which is relevant to clients within a specific domain, such as a geographic region, or under the footprint of a satellite transmitter. The viewer selects television programs and Web content from displayed sections of the program guide data which are recorded to a storage device. The program guide data are used to determine when to start and end recordings. Client devices periodically connect to the server using a phone line and upload information of interest which is combined with information uploaded from other client devices for statistical, operational, or viewing models.

Information processing device and information processing method, program storage medium, program, data structure, and manufacturing method for storage medium

Described herein is an information processing device, information processing method, program storage medium, program, data structure, and manufacturing method for storage medium wherein a user can determine subtitles with certainty. That is, an attribute buffer holds at least font style specifying information which specifies a font style to be applied for a character object for a subtitle held in a character object buffer, and width specifying information which can specify the width of the outline of the character object corresponding to the font style having an outline. In the case that the font style having an outline is specified in the font style specifying information, a font rasterizer obtains font style data of the font style having an outline, updates the font style data based on the width specifying information, and converts the character object into subtitle data, using at least the updated font style data.

IMAGE SIGNAL RECORDING/REPRODUCTION APPARATUS, METHOD EMPLOYED THEREIN, AND IMAGE SIGNAL RECORDING APPARATUS

A dynamic image recording button and a still image recording button are provided at the main unit of a movie camera. A magneto-optical recording medium is loaded in a slot. If the dynamic image recording button or the still image recording button is operated during a reproduction operation, the reproduction operation is interrupted in a state in which the mechanical drive (rotation) of the magneto-optical recording medium is sustained. At this point, a dynamic image signal or a still image signal obtained through a photographing operation performed at the camera unit is temporarily recorded in a buffer memory, and is written in the magneto-optical recording medium when a write in the magneto-optical recording medium becomes enabled. Instructions to record dynamic images and to record still images can be issued to the movie camera through a touch-panel provided on the screen of a liquid crystal display unit. Even when operation cannot be performed through the touch-panel, the instructions can be issued through the dynamic image recording button or the still image recording button.
