A video encoding method of estimating a motion vector of a current block in a current frame includes identifying a reference block in a reference frame, a first location of the current block within the current frame corresponding to a second location of the reference block within the reference frame, setting a search range in the reference frame, searching for candidate blocks from the search range of the reference frame, each of the candidate blocks satisfying a corresponding first motion estimation criterion of first motion estimation criteria, searching for a prediction block from among the candidate blocks, the prediction block satisfying a second motion estimation criterion, estimating, as the motion vector of the current block, a motion vector corresponding to a displacement between the reference block and the prediction block, and encoding the current block based on the estimated motion vector.

Derivation method and apparatuses with candidate motion vectors

A moving for transmitting a bitstream via network is provided. A first candidate is derived from a first motion vector that has been used to decode a first block. The first block is adjacent to a current block. A second candidate having a second motion vector that is a non-zero value vector based on an X-Y axis of a fixed offset value is derived. The second motion vector is not derived by decoding a block adjacent to the current block and the fixed offset value is a non-zero value. An index to select a candidate used for coding the current block from a plurality of candidates, including the first candidate and the second candidate, is determined. The current block is coded by including the determined index.

The present invention provides a video decoding method and a camera. Said method comprises: loading a video, and decoding each frame from the video; calculating, for any two adjacent frames, a first optical flow field; calculating, according to the first optical flow field, a second optical flow field of a position where a frame is to be inserted, the position being located between two adjacent frames; using the second optical flow field to calculate a corresponding pixel position, in a previous frame of two adjacent frames, of each pixel of the frame to be inserted, and assigning the pixel value of the previous frame to the pixel of the frame to be inserted; and placing the inserted frame and the decoded original frame together according to a time sequence, so as to reconstitute a video having a high frame rate. The present invention eliminates or improves discrete motion, providing a more fluent viewing experience.

Methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable mediums are provided. A coded video bitstream including a current picture is received. A determination is made as to whether a current block in a current coding tree unit (CTU) included in the current picture is coded in intra block copy (IBC) mode based on a flag included in the coded video bitstream. In response to the current block being determined as coded in IBC mode, a block vector that points to a first reference block of the current block is determined; an operation is performed on the block vector so that when the first reference block is not fully reconstructed or not within a valid search range of the current block, the block vector is modified to point to a second reference block that is in a fully reconstructed region and within the valid search range of the current block; and the current block is decoded based on the modified block vector.

A method for video processing includes performing a conversion between a current video block of a video region of a video and a coded representation of the video. The conversion uses a coding mode in which the current video block is constructed based on a first domain and a second domain and/or chroma residue is scaled in a luma-dependent manner. A parameter set in the coded representation comprises parameter information for the coding mode.

An apparatus calculates a block vector difference (BVD) between a block vector (BV) and a block vector predictor (BVP). The apparatus determines each of a plurality of BV candidates based on a sum of the BVP and a different one of a plurality of BVD candidates. Each of the plurality of BVD candidates comprises: a first and a second component magnitude of the BVD; and a different combination of signs for the first and second component magnitudes. The apparatus determines validities of the plurality of BV candidates based on values of samples, stored in a reference memory, of reference blocks indicated by the plurality of BV candidates. The apparatus signales, in a bitstream, a sign for at least one of the first and second component magnitudes of the BVD based on the validities of the plurality of BV candidates.
