CURLED SUTURE DEVICE APPARATUS AND METHOD
The present invention provides a suturing device to minimize interference and obstructions during intricate surgeries. The curled suture device is significantly shorter than traditional suturing kits by featuring a needle attached to a specially manufactured thread incorporating a stopping mechanism preceding an angular, semi-rigid portion of thread followed by a curled portion of thread arranged in a corkscrew configuration. The stopping mechanism halts the movement of the thread as the needle and thread intermediate the needle and stopping mechanism is pulled through the suture point, securing the remainder of the thread for access. The semi-rigid portion of thread is thereby utilized in conjunction with its curled portion of thread, allowing for the user's unabated access to the corkscrew configuration to form a ready-made knot, minimizing interference and obstruction during surgery. The thread may be manufactured to form an additional semi-rigid and curled portions of thread upon creation of a knot.
ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT TOOL
An endoscopic treatment tool includes: a needle tube in which a needle tube insertion passage extending from a distal end to a proximal end of the needle tube is formed; a stylet which is disposed to move freely in the needle tube insertion passage; a main manipulation part which is connected to a proximal end side of the needle tube, the main manipulation part supporting the stylet such that the stylet advances while rotating, and the main manipulation part operating the stylet; a manipulation transmission member which has flexibility and the manipulation transmission member is connected to the stylet; and an auxiliary manipulation part which includes a handle fixed to a proximal end portion of the manipulation transmission member and the auxiliary manipulation part is configured such that the manipulation transmission member advances while rotating in accordance with a manipulation of the handle.
Fixation members, assemblies, and related systems and methods
A suture anchor for fixation within an anatomical structure includes an actuation member in contact with an anchor body at a first location thereof. The anchor body is elongate along a direction of elongation and defines a central axis. In a neutral configuration, the anchor body is flat and defines a thickness along a transverse direction and a width along a lateral direction, the width being greater than the thickness. The anchor body has first and second tails that are braided together along a portion of the actuation member from the first location to a second location of the anchor body. The actuation member is configured to apply a force to the braided anchor body so as to actuate the anchor body in a manner increasing its maximum thickness along a second direction that is angularly offset from the direction of elongation.
System for making cut surgical braids
A system for making surgical braids. The apparatus comprises a braiding machine. The braiding machine comprises a plurality of horn gears and a plurality of bobbin carrier assemblies engaging the plurality of horn gears. A cutting machine is arranged to receive a continuous braid directly from the braiding machine. The cutting machine has a cutter. The braiding machine and cutting machine define a continuous path extending from the bobbin carrier assemblies and through at least a portion of the cutting machine.
FISTULA TREATEMENT DEVICE
A fistula treatment system comprises a guide such as a guide coil 1101 which is adapted to extend partially around a tissue tract and an implant element 1102. The implant element 1102 is activated to draw tissue surrounding the tract inwardly.
REPLACEMENT HEART VALVE WITH IMPROVED STITCHING
A replacement heart valve implant may include an expandable anchor member, a plurality of valve leaflets disposed within the anchor member, a seal member disposed about a distal portion of the anchor member, one or more whip sutures attaching a distal end of the seal member to a distal end of the plurality of valve leaflets at a joint, one or more distal lashing sutures attaching a distal portion of the seal member to a distal end of the anchor member, and a plurality of proximal lashing sutures attaching a proximal portion of the seal member to the distal portion of the anchor member, wherein the one or more distal lashing sutures does not extend through the seal member.
System for providing surgical access
One embodiment is directed to a system for closing a wound created at least partially across a tissue structure wall, comprising: a helical needle; a suture member coupled to the helical needle and configured to be pulled along a helical pattern with helical movement of the helical needle; an outer delivery member rotatably coupled to the helical needle; a drive shaft axially movably coupled to the outer delivery member; and a plurality of suture guide struts projecting distally from the outer delivery member; wherein upon helical insertion of the helical needle relative to the outer delivery member, the helical needle is advanced such that it becomes disposed around the guide struts, such that the guide struts prevent radial migration of the suture as it is helically wound into the tissue structure.
BARBED SUTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE BARBED SUTURE
The present invention is related to a suture having a cord member. The cord member includes a cord and an outer later covering the core. An outer circumferential surface of the core includes a plurality of protrusions, and the plurality of protrusions are arranged in a ring shape relative to a center of the core. Through spiral cutting method to perform processing on the outer circumferential surface of the outer surface, a plurality of cutting slots are formed at the outer circumferential surface of the outer layer. After the processing of each cutting slot is complete, a protruding member for retaining skin is formed correspondingly.
ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT TOOL
An endoscopic treatment tool includes: a sheath in which a lumen is formed; a treatment part which is inserted into the lumen and is configured to protrude and retract from a distal end of the sheath; a main manipulation part which is connected to the proximal end side of the sheath and allows the treatment part to perform a first motion and a second motion; an auxiliary manipulation part which is disposed to be separate from the main manipulation part and is configured to perform the first motion of the treatment part and configured to put the second motion out of action; and a manipulation transmission member which is made of a flexible member, connects the auxiliary manipulation part to the main manipulation part, and transmits a manipulation input of the auxiliary manipulation part with respect to the main manipulation part.
TETHER LINE SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TONGUE OR OTHER TISSUE SUSPENSION OR COMPRESSION
Systems and methods of placing one or more suture loops into tissue, such as the base of the tongue, are described. A system can include a variable-thickness suspension line for suspending tissue, including a suture having a first thickness dimension; an elastomer surrounding a portion of the suture and defining a central segment of the suspension line having a second thickness dimension greater than the first thickness dimension, and at least one transition zone extending from the central segment of the suspension line to a lateral end of the suspension line, the transition zones having a thickness dimension that tapers from the second thickness dimension to the first thickness dimension.
