Method of forming a suture-button-graft combination and facilitating construct

A suture and button construct, having an oblong button defining at least a first aperture and a second aperture; a suture length, including a braid defining a lumen and having a middle section and two end sections, each extending through a button aperture and both terminating in an end. Both ends have a needle attached. Also, two shuttles are engaged to the suture length, each having a free end and a loop end, terminating in a loop. Each shuttle enters the lumen in the middle section and extend through an aperture, while in the lumen and exit on the opposite button side from the middle section, so that both shuttle loops are available outside the lumen, to pull a suture end through the lumen and a button aperture.

METHOD FOR IMPLANTING SOFT TISSUE
20170325808 · 2017-11-16 ·

A suture construction and method for forming a suture construction is disclosed. The construction utilizes a suture having an enlarged central body portion defining a longitudinal passage. First and second ends of the suture are passed through first and second apertures associated with the longitudinal passage to form a pair of loops. Portions of the suture lay parallel to each other within the suture. Application of tension onto the suture construction causes constriction of the longitudinal passage, thus preventing relative motions of the captured portions of the suture.

Adhesive barbed filament

The present disclosure provides filaments and/or surgical sutures which include an inner core, an outer sheath and a plurality of barbs on a surface thereof. The filaments and/or surgical sutures further include at least one adhesive precursor material which transitions from a non-adherent material to an adhesive material to attach a portion of the filament and/or suture to the surrounding area, such as tissue and/or other portions of the filament.

Method and apparatus for stitching tendons

Methods and apparatuses for repairing a tear in soft tissue are disclosed. A method according to the principles of the present disclosure includes connecting an intermediate member to a bone anchor and placing the intermediate member on the soft tissue. The method further includes inserting a first suture through the intermediate member and the soft tissue to attach the intermediate member to the soft tissue and fixing the bone anchor to bone to secure the soft tissue to the bone.

A surgical procedure kit for inserting a medical tube according to the present invention includes: an insertion pathway formation means configured to include a medical tube provided with a hollow tube main body, a tube member including a hollow conduit having the medical tube received therein and forming a pathway into which the medical tube is to be inserted, and a support member including a support rod which is inserted into the medical tube and has stiffness greater than that of the tube member; and a push means configured to be slidable within the conduit of the tube member and push the medical tube through the conduit of the tube member.

Surgical constructs with collapsing suture loop and methods for securing tissue

Surgical constructs and methods are provided for securing soft tissue to bone. One exemplary embodiment of a construct is formed from a suture filament and includes two terminal ends of filament and an intermediate portion disposed along at least a portion of a length extending between the terminal ends. The construct can have a first terminal end that is the first terminal end of the filament, and a second terminal end that includes a loop. The loop can be formed by disposing the second terminal end of the filament within a volume of a portion of the intermediate portion of the filament. In some disclosed methods, both terminal ends of the filament can be passed through tissue when performing soft tissue repairs. Various other embodiments of constructs and methods are provided, including constructs having two or more filaments associated with an anchor and methods of using such constructs.

GRAFT SUSPENSION DEVICE

A graft suspension device for suspending a ligament in a bone hole having a first loop and a second loop suspending from an 8-hole anchor, and a cradle at the opposite end of the loops to the anchor. The loose ends of the suture are routed through holes in the anchor separate from the loops and are joined together to form a single tail. A finger loop allows a surgeon to adjust the distance of the cradle from the anchor with the cradle staying centered with respect to the anchor as the distance is adjusted.

SOFT SUTURE-BASED ANCHORS
20170224326 · 2017-08-10 ·

Suture constructs and methods for soft tissue to bone repairs. The suture construct is a soft, suture-based anchor which is self-cinching and has a specific, accordion-type configuration (i.e., with the ability to fold from a first, extended position to a second, folded or compressed position). The suture-based anchor may be formed essentially of a flexible material such as a high strength surgical suture, suture chain, or suture.

Elastic Tissue Reinforcing Fastener
20170224338 · 2017-08-10 ·

A tissue fastener having fixed points of tissue attachment including a first elongate elastic component and a second elongate component having one or more elongate sections each adjacent section delineated by at least one frangible point.

Method and apparatus for attaching soft tissue to bone

A method and apparatus for securing soft tissue to bone can include forming a bore in the bone and carrying a flexible suture anchor into the bore. The flexible anchor can include a passage and can be coupled to a suture construct. The suture construct can include at least one self-locking adjustable loop, and the flexible anchor can include a first profile while being carried into the bore. A shape of the flexible anchor can be changed from the first profile to a second profile forming an anchoring mass to retain the flexible anchor in the bore. Tension can be applied to a portion of the suture construct to reduce a size of the self-locking adjustable loop and secure the soft tissue relative to the flexible anchor and the bone.
