Displaying HDMI Content in a Tiled Window
In response to receiving user-interface activity information from a portable electronic device that specifies user selection of a content source, an audio/video (A/V) hub provides a request for high-definition multimedia-interface (HDMI) content to the content source based on the user selection. When the A/V hub receives the HDMI content from the content source, the A/V hub provide the HDMI content and display instructions to an A/V display device as frames with the HDMI content are received from the content source, so that the HDMI content is displayed in a tiled window on the display in the A/V display device while other HDMI content from another content source is displayed on the display.
Image matching-based pointing techniques
Techniques are disclosed that can be implemented as a system configured for image matching-based pointing and/or selection from information presented in an image displayed by a projection device. A pointing device configured as described herein may be pointed at a target portion of an image displayed by a projection device and allowed to capture an image inclusive of that target portion. In turn, the captured image data may be compared with data pertaining to the original displayed image. The resultant pointing location data can be used to generate one or more pointing indicators within the original image, and the projection device may display the resultant annotated image on screen, in some cases in real time and/or with precision resolution of a single pixel. A subsequent user selection can be made based on the known location of the pointing indicator. The techniques provide for more native human-machine interaction than existing approaches.
System, method, and device to configure devices via a remote with biometrics
A set-top box apparatus includes at least one input module to receive one or more media content streams, at least one memory device, an Ethernet port, at least one wireless transceiver to access a communications network to enable communication with at least one external media player device, an HDMI connector to provide a communication path to a multimedia presentation device, wherein the set-top box apparatus is configured to process at least one of the received one or more media content streams from the at least one input module into multimedia data, to send the one or more received media content streams to the at least one memory device to be stored, and to convey the multimedia data on the communication path to the multimedia presentation device.
Display apparatus and display method thereof
A display method includes displaying content on a screen and if a non-contact user motion having directivity is input, analyzing a direction of input non-contact user motion and dividing the screen into plural screens according to the directivity of the non-contact user motion.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCED REMOTE CONTROL
In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for enhanced remote control of diverse appliances or devices with support for “legacy” devices as well as providing enhanced functionality. In some implementations, the remote control may utilize a multi-device communications scheme and partner with a computing device, such as a smartphone or other such device, to provide added functionality, including network functionality.
REMOTE CONTROLLER AND SELECTIVE KEY ILLUMINATION
According to one configuration, a remote controller device wirelessly controls a remote media system. The remote controller device includes multiple selectable control buttons, multiple optical sources, and controller hardware. Each optical source individually back-illuminates a respective selectable control button of the multiple selectable buttons. The controller hardware selectively activates different groupings of the multiple optical sources depending upon a current operational mode of the remote media system. For example, a respective user of the remote controller device selects a particular button of the remote controller device corresponding to the first operational mode. The remote controller device, in turn, transmits a wireless signal to the remote media system to control the remote media system to the first operational mode. Rather than illuminating all buttons, the remote controller device then back-illuminates only a relevant group of multiple selectable control buttons applicable to the first operational mode.
Video display apparatus and terminal apparatus
A terminal apparatus having a function of remotely controlling a video display apparatus includes a communication unit that transmits a command related to setting of the video display apparatus and receives status information, a signal receiving unit that receives a signal output from a broadcast station and decodes a video content, a memory unit that stores a content of a command including a channel of the video content, and a display unit that displays the video content and various types of information. In this terminal apparatus, the communication unit transmits an identification code specific to the terminal apparatus when transmitting the command, and when the status information is received after a channel of the video display apparatus is set by remote control, the video content of the channel stored in the memory unit is decoded by the signal receiving unit and is displayed on the display unit.
MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS, METHODS AND APPLICATIONS
Systems and methods according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a user interface including an electronic program guide and scrollable visual directories.
Device control method and electric device
A method for controlling an operation of a target device using a plurality of input devices is disclosed. The method comprises: receiving from one of the plurality of the input devices a first operation instruction issued to the target device, with a first data format; recognizing the first operation instruction and the first data format; determining that the one of the plurality of the input devices is a first input device corresponding to the first data format; and providing to a user of the target device a recommendation for a second input device, a type of the second input device being different from a type of the first input device, when it is determined that a type of the first operation instruction is identical to a type of a second operation instruction received from the second input device earlier than the reception of the first operation instruction.
Human-computer interaction method and controlled terminal and remote-control device utilizing the same
A control method for a controlled terminal and the controlled terminal and a remote-control device utilizing the same are provided. According to the control method for a controlled terminal, a time interval for the controlled terminal to respond to the input operations from a remote-control device is set according to a setting instruction, and the input operations from the remote-control device are processed according to the time interval. Using the above-describe manner, the time interval of the controlled terminal to respond to input operations can be flexibly set to ensure that users can watch TV programs normally, and improve the user experience.
