Method and apparatus for processing video bitstream, network device, and readable storage medium
Provided are a method and apparatus for processing a video bitstream, a network device and a readable storage medium. The method includes: parsing a bitstream to be extracted, and acquiring parameter information about an extractable sub-bitstream from a data unit of the bitstream to be extracted; determining a picture type parameter value of a random access picture in the sub-bitstream according to the parameter information; and configuring, in a process of extracting the sub-bitstream from the bitstream to be extracted, a picture type parameter value in a data unit of the sub-bitstream according to the picture type parameter value of the random access picture.
CHANNEL REPORTING DURING FAST CHANNEL CHANGE
Methods, systems, and computer readable media described herein can be operable to facilitate different reporting treatment for certain join requests received during a fast channel change. A gateway device may automatically detect the FCC (Fast Channel Change) via a configured interval. The gateway device may be configured such that if a subsequent IGMP (Internet group management protocol) join request was received within the configured interval since a previous join request, the previous join request may be ignored. According to the configuration of the gateway device, in a FCC, only the first channel and the last channel are reported, and the middle channel changes may be ignored.
METHOD FOR SCANNING TELEVISION CHANNELS AND TELEVISION SYSTEM
A method for scanning television channels and a television system are provided. The television system includes a circuit system, a storage unit, and a control circuit. The circuit system is used to receive and demodulate television streaming data, separate information in the television streaming data, and decompress and convert the television streaming data into video and audio. The method is performed in the control circuit. In the method, a channel-selection transceiver circuit receives a channel-selection signal. After channel data stored in the storage unit is analyzed, it is determined whether the channel-selection signal corresponds to any television channel in the channel data. If the channel data does not include the television channel corresponding to the channel-selection signal, a scanning routine is performed in a background for scanning the television channels. A scanning result is then generated and used to update the channel data in the storage unit.

PORTING LOCALLY PROCESSED MEDIA DATA WITH LOW LATENCY TO A REMOTE CLIENT DEVICE VIA VARIOUS WIRELESS LINKS
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for porting locally processed media data with low latency to a remote client device via various wireless links are provided. In one example embodiment, a transceiver module may include a local network interface and a controller that may receive a client control signal from a client device over a wireless local area network via the local network interface, transmit a media control signal based on the client control signal to a media device, receive media data based on the media control signal from the media device, and transmit to the client device over the wireless local area network via the local network interface client data based on the media data and a low-latency compression technique. The receipt of the media data and transmission of the client data may be accomplished with substantially no detectable latency. Additional embodiments are also provided.
Reducing latency during service change and improving robustness in advanced television systems committee (ATSC) 3.0 system
Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. Signaling indicates where the first few segments of a changed-to broadcast service can be obtained on the broadband network. Segments not including the live edge segments are downloaded and played immediately to reduce perceived latency in the service change until the broadcast segments arrive for presentation.
Intelligent download of content
Intelligently downloading content to user devices is described herein. According to an embodiment, a user request for content is received. In response to the request, a low quality version of the content is downloaded and played to the user. Then, a higher quality version of the content is downloaded (this may occur during or after the download or playback of the low quality version of the content). Playback of the low quality version is discontinued. Then, playback of the higher quality version begins at the point where playback of the low quality version was discontinued. In some embodiments, the low quality version and the higher quality version of the requested content (among all the versions of the requested content) are identified via crowdsourcing.
Reducing multicast join latency for IPTV streams
One aspect of the instant application facilitates reduction of multicast group join latency. During operation, the system can receive, at a network device, a first multicast group leave packet corresponding to a first multicast group. In response to receiving a first multicast group leave packet from an IPTV client, the system can simulate a second multicast group join on behalf of the IPTV client by updating, based on a predictive model, at least an entry in a table maintained in hardware with a next likely multicast group that the IPTV client is likely to join; and sending a simulated second multicast group join packet for initiating an IPTV stream associated with the next likely multicast group. In response to receiving an actual second multicast group join packet from the IPTV client, the system can facilitate the IPTV stream to the IPTV client, thereby reducing multicast group join latency.
FAST VIDEO STREAM STARTUP
The exemplary embodiments relate to devices, systems and methods for a streaming service to provide fast video stream startup at a user device. The streaming service may determine that a video stream for on-demand content is to be provided to the user device and is to include multiple subclips corresponding to the on-demand content and a dynamic content insertion opportunity (DCIO). A first set of multimedia data is transmitted to the user device that corresponds to a first subclip of the on-demand content. When a predetermined condition corresponding to the DCIO is satisfied, a second set of multimedia data is transmitted to the user device that includes multimedia data corresponding to at least the multiple subclips.
SEAMLESS SWITCHING METHOD, DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE DECODING RESOLUTION
The present invention provides a method, device and computer-readable medium of a seamless switch between resolutions based on software and hardware decoding and belongs to a field of the Internet technology. The method, device and computer-readable medium of the present invention comprise, during playing a DASH video, initializing a software decoder according to a video stream in a target encoded format received by an original decoder when it needs to switch to another resolution, at the same time the original decoder continuing to decode the video stream in an original encoded format existing in a buffer, decoding the video stream in the target encoded format using the software decoder after the video stream in the original encoded format is decoded, at the same time initializing a second hardware decoder corresponding to the target encoded format, switching to the second hardware decoder and stopping software decoding when a decoding progress of the second hardware decoder catches up with a decoding progress of the software decoder, so as to realize the seamless switch between the resolutions, avoid sticking in the process of playing the video, and improve user experience.
