Method and system for performing broadcast encryption with revocation capability
A broadcast encryption method that allows a broadcaster to send encrypted content to a set of users such that only a subset of authorized users can decrypt the content, and to perform both temporary and permanent revocation of users. Accordingly, during a Setup stage, a Key Service generates a public key and a Master Secret Key (MSK) and sends the Public Parameters PP used to generate the public key to a broadcaster and to all users. The broadcaster uses the Public Parameters PP to create a message M, with which the broadcaster encrypts the content, and further creates a Cipher Text (CT), which is sent to all users. During a Key Gen stage, whenever a user wishes to decrypt the message M for decrypting the content, the user sends a request with his ID1 to the Key Service. The Key Service generates a corresponding secret key SK.sub.ID1 and the secret key SK.sub.ID1 is sent to the user ID1 via a secure data channel. During a Decrypt stage, the user uses the secret key SK.sub.ID1, to decrypt the Cipher Text (CT) and obtain the message M. During a Revoke stage of k users (k=1, 2, 3, . . . ) a State Update Message (SUM) which is sent to all users, is provided and each user updates his state with the SUM he received, such that the k users having identities ID.sub.1, ID.sub.2, . . . ID.sub.k will not be able to update their state and will be permanently revoked, while all the remaining users being admitted users will be able to update their state and will not be revoked. Temporary revocation is done by inserting a list of IDs (ID.sub.1, ID.sub.2, . . . ID.sub.k) to be revoked into the CT.
Interactive broadcast media content provider with direct audience interaction
A server system receives a digital media asset captured by a media capture device along with a dataset associated with the digital media asset. The server system generates a modified digital media asset by overlaying or embedding a glyph that encodes information pointing to the network location of the information page onto the digital media asset. A requesting device scans the glyph from the modified digital media asset and decodes from the glyph the information pointing to the network location. The information includes a certification that the digital media and the dataset associated with the digital media asset are unaltered. The requesting device may transmit communications to the server system to indicate approval or disapproval of the digital media asset, or to edit the digital media asset. The server system receives the communication and may modify the information to reflect comments, approvals, disapprovals, or edits.
Display apparatus
A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. A plurality of pictures for thumbnail may be produced from the plurality of pieces of picture information and be arranged together to be displayed in one picture screen of a display device.
Content viewing method and mobile information terminal used for same
A content viewing method uses a viewing system including a content distribution server distributing contents, a mobile information terminal, and a viewing device reproducing a content. The mobile information terminal transmits user identification information and a user password to the content distribution server. The content distribution server authenticates the mobile information terminal based on the user identification information and the user password. The mobile information terminal transmits an account issue request requesting an account for reproducing a desired content to the content distribution server. The content distribution server issues the account based on the account issue request and transmits the account to the mobile information terminal. The mobile information terminal stores the account. The mobile information terminal transmits the account by short-range wireless communication. The viewing device stores the account received by short-range wireless communication. The viewing device reproduces the desired content using the stored account.
Real time camera map for emergency video stream requisition service among peer-to-peer private servers
A system provides a transformed video stream from, a publicly or privately owned and operated camera bearing on an in-scope location vicinity, to, a responding emergency service agency (ESA). A request from an emergency services agent's display terminal includes location indicia and elicits a map of cameras bearing on the location vicinity as well as other display terminals in the area. Upon request, an application programming interface enables a video stream to comply with the privacy and access settings of the camera owner/operators. A plurality of private and public security surveillance cameras is coupled to a server. Exterior/street view video images are streamed to the server which may contact an owner for emergency access. An emergency agency vehicle at a location has a display for a selected gallery of obfuscated exterior/street views from cooperative networks of public and private security cameras bearing on the vicinity of an incident.
Digital transport adapter
One or more computing devices may be configured to identify information corresponding to a program change request associated with a multi-program data transmission. The information may comprise at least a link to a desired program within the multi-program data transmission. The one or more computing devices may communicate the link to the desired program to a client device over a specified time period. After the time period, the one or more computing devices may communicate the desired program to the client device using a single program data transmission. The single program data transmission may be derived from the multi-program data transmission.
