The present technology makes it easy to present an image having appropriate image quality at a receiver side that receives high-frame-rate moving image data.

A video stream obtained by encoding moving image data having a high frame rate is generated. A container containing the video stream is transmitted. Blur control information for controlling blur is inserted into a layer of the container and/or a layer of the video stream. The blur control information gives, for example, weighting coefficients for individual frames in a blurring process for adding image data of neighboring frames to image data of a current frame.

Generating a media file, by generating a first data structure assigning a subset of samples of a track to one or more sample groups, each sample of the subset comprising one or more network abstraction layer (NAL) units; generating a second data structure for describing each of the one or more sample groups, the first and second data structures comprising a first grouping type indicating a mapping between NAL units and the one or more sample groups, the second data structure associating a sample group identifier to a NAL unit; generating a third data structure for describing a tile region, the third data structure comprising a second grouping type indicating that the samples of the track comprise one or more tile regions; and, generating a media file including the samples and including a metadata part, the metadata part comprising the first, second and third data structures, and the metadata part comprising a reference grouping type for linking the second and third data structures.

Disclosed is a broadcasting signal transmission device, a broadcasting signal reception device, and a method for transmitting/receiving a broadcasting signal using same. The method for receiving the broadcasting signal comprises the following steps: receiving the broadcasting signal, which includes a transmission frame, wherein the transmission frame includes a plurality of PLPs, which transmit components that constitute a broadcasting service, first signaling information and second signaling information, which include the signaling information of the plurality of PLPs, a first preamble signal, which has been signaled with a preamble format, and a second preamble signal, which has been signaled with pilot pattern information, wherein one of the plurality of PLPs is a base PLP, which includes a program number that corresponds to the broadcasting service and program map table information, which has been signaled with identifying information for each of the PLPs; demodulating the broadcasting signal based on the first and the second preamble signals; FEC decoding the demodulated broadcasting signal; and identifying a PLP group that includes the plurality of PLP from the FEC decoded broadcasting signal based on the first and the second signaling information, decoding at least one PLP of the identified PLP group, and providing the broadcasting service.

Basic format image data and the predetermined number of pieces of high-quality format image data are successfully transmitted. A basic video stream obtained by encoding basic format image data and a predetermined number of extended video streams obtained by encoding the predetermined number of pieces of high-quality format image data are generated. A container in a predetermined format including each of the video streams is transmitted. Identification information in a high-quality format corresponding to each of the predetermined number of extended video streams is inserted into a layer of the container and/or the video stream.

Methods, systems, and media for remote rendering of Web content on a television device are provided. In some implementations, methods for remote rendering of Web content on a television device are provided, the methods comprising: sending a request for the Web content to a server, receiving, at a source device, a response corresponding to the request; generating a set of drawing commands based on the response; obtaining at least one encoded image based on the response; presenting the Web content on the source device; generating a plurality of content layers corresponding to the Web content, wherein the plurality of content layers including a first content layer comprises the set of drawing commands and a second content layer comprises the encoded image; transmitting the plurality of content layers; and causing the Web content to be presented on the television device based on the plurality of content layers.

The invention relates to encapsulating scalable tiled timed media data comprising timed samples in a server and providing a timed media data bit-stream from encapsulated scalable tiled timed media in a client device. Each timed sample comprises a first layer and at least one second layer and at least one of the layers comprises a plurality of subsamples represented by one or more coding units. After having obtained at least one subsample from amongst the plurality of subsamples of one of the timed samples, one track comprising the at least one obtained subsample is created. Next, the created track is independently encapsulated in at least one media segment file, said media segment file comprising mapping metadata for providing information about the at least one obtained subsample relative to the one of the timed samples and the layer it belongs to.

A method and system for improving audio and video multimedia modification and presentation is provided. The method includes receiving an audio/video stream and analyzing objects of the audio/video stream for generating predictions with respect to the objects. Component analysis code is executed with respect to the audio/video stream and an object is removed from the audio/video stream resulting in a modified audio/video stream being generated thereby reducing hardware storage and transfer size requirements of the audio/video stream. The modified audio/video stream is presented to a user via a graphical user interface.

The reception side can easily acquire at least function enhancement information inside a codec.

Image data of each picture of a base layer is encoded to generate a first encoded stream, and image data of each picture of an enhanced layer is encoded to generate a second encoded stream. The first encoded stream and the second encoded stream are transmitted. Function enhancement information including at least function enhancement information inside a codec is transmitted outside the encoded stream. For example, the function enhancement information further includes function enhancement information outside the codec.

Techniques are provided for transmitting high quality multimedia data from a device for live and on-demand viewing. The device adjusts the quality of a single multimedia data stream based on one or more factors, such as the available bandwidth of a wireless link with a server, whether there are any live subscribers of the multimedia data stream, whether any live subscribers are interacting with the device, and a change in the privacy settings of the user of the device. Any data that was removed from the multimedia data stream before it was transmitted to a server is subsequently sent to the server. The server generates multiple versions of the multimedia data stream that vary in terms of quality. The server selects which version of the multimedia data stream to transmit to a subscriber of the multimedia data stream based on one or more criteria.
