There is provided an image archiving method for use with a writing target, comprising the steps of receiving a series of captured images of the writing target, detecting difference between first and second candidate received images separated by a predetermined period of time, where additive differences are indicative of writing and subtractive differences are indicative of erasure; upon detecting subtractive difference, temporarily retaining a last candidate image captured prior to the detection, and detecting whether the subtractive difference relative to the retained image exceeds a subtraction threshold amount; and if so, then storing the retained image.

Method for displaying multimedia content, electronic device for performing same, and recording medium in which program for executing same is recorded are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for displaying multimedia content comprises acquiring multimedia content including video data which is reproduced as a video, and slide data including a key scene which is matched with event time point in a reproduction time period of the video data and is displayed in a slideshow manner, acquiring a text data corresponding to the multimedia content, displaying the multimedia content in a first area according to a video mode for reproducing the video data as the video or a slideshow mode for displaying the key scene in the slideshow manner, displaying at least a portion of the text data in a second area; and adjusting the displayed text data according to the displayed multimedia content.

Systems and methods are described herein for displaying subjects of a portion of content. Media data of content is analyzed during playback, and a number of action signatures are identified. Each action signature is associated with a particular subject within the content. The action signature is stored, along with a timestamp corresponding to a playback position at which the action signature begins, in association with an identifier of the particular subject. Upon receiving a command, icons representing each of a number of action signatures at or near the current playback position are displayed. Upon receiving user selection of an icon corresponding to a particular signature, a portion of the content corresponding to the action signature is played back.

A method of influencing access to website, social media or mobile application content is described. The method comprises identifying the occurrence of an item of live or previously broadcast media content, identifying consumer Internet activity at the time of the occurrence of the item of media content, and identifying, from said detected consumer internet activity, a strategy to influence an Internet search function, social media site or mobile application to display selected information. Then, a subsequent broadcast of the item of media content is identified, and the identified strategy is triggered at the point the item occurs during the time of the identified subsequent broadcast.

The invention relates to deploying a synchronization index and associated multimedia, for manipulations to the synchronization index, for navigation between the synchronization index and associated multimedia, and for synchronous playback of the multimedia and associated text, using a computing device. The system may use multimedia with a synchronized text transcription, or a synchronization index, on a computing device for viewing and manipulating the multimedia, using the synchronized text transcription. The computing device may be used to navigate the multimedia, annotate the text transcription, achieve synchronous play of the multimedia, and communicate to another computer manipulations performed on the text or multimedia.

Provided are a method and device for adjusting playback progress of a video file. The method includes: receiving text information to be searched; searching, in a caption file of the video file, for caption content matching the text information, wherein the caption file is acquired from the video file or generated according to the video file; and determining playback time point corresponding to the caption content according to the found caption content, and adjusting the playback progress of the video file according to the playback time point. According to the technical solution provided in the disclosure, accurate positioning of a clip which a user expects to replay is achieved, and the operation is simple and convenient.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating content based on format-specific screenplay parsing techniques. The techniques generate and present content by generating new dynamic content structures to generate content segments for output on electronic devices. In one disclosed technique, a first instance of a first character name is identified from the screenplay document. A first set of character data following the first instance of the first character name from the screenplay document and preceding an instance of a second character name from the screenplay document is then identified. Upon identification of the first set of character data, a content structure including an object is generated. The object includes attribute table entries based on the first set of character data. A content segment is generated for output based on the content structure (e.g., a 3D animation of the first character interacting within a scene).

A method for recording media content based on media content fingerprints is described. A media device records content received in a content stream from a scheduled start time of a media content to a scheduled end time of the media content to create a content recording. The media device derives one or more fingerprints from the content recording. A fingerprint database is queried with the one or more fingerprints to determine that a first portion of the content recording comprises an advertisement and a second portion of the content recording comprises the media content. In response to a request to play the content recording, starting playback of the content recording at the beginning of the second portion of the content recording.

A content receiving device includes: a first receiver that receives a content item; a list transmitter; a thumbnail generator; and a thumbnail transmitter. The list transmitter transmits a list, which includes information indicating the content item received by the first receiver, to a display device through a server. The thumbnail generator generates a thumbnail of the content item received by the first receiver. The thumbnail transmitter transmits the thumbnail generated by the thumbnail generator, to the display device. The display device includes: a second receiver; and a display. The second receiver receives the list transmitted by the list transmitter, and the thumbnail transmitted by the thumbnail transmitter. The display displays an image in which a thumbnail of a content item among a plurality of the thumbnails received by the second receiver is associated with the information included in the list received by the second receiver, the thumbnail of the content item corresponding to the information.

A content receiving device includes: a content receiver that acquires a content item; a generator that generates a thumbnail of the content item, which is acquired by the content receiver; a thumbnail storage that stores the thumbnail generated by the generator; a request receiver that receives the acquisition request for the thumbnail; and a transmitter. The transmitter transmits the thumbnail stored in the thumbnail storage, to a transmission source of the acquisition request for the thumbnail, in response to the acquisition request for the thumbnail being received by the request receiver.
