Recording and playback system based on multimedia content fingerprints
A method for recording media content based on media content fingerprints is described. A media device records content received in a content stream from a scheduled start time of a media content to a scheduled end time of the media content to create a content recording. The media device derives one or more fingerprints from the content recording. A fingerprint database is queried with the one or more fingerprints to determine that a first portion of the content recording comprises an advertisement and a second portion of the content recording comprises the media content. In response to a request to play the content recording, starting playback of the content recording at the beginning of the second portion of the content recording.

A modular multimedia platform includes a chassis into which a variety of modular input/output units, referred to as ports, may be inserted. A method of session-based DASH operations can include receiving a media presentation description (MPD) referencing a session-based description (SBD) and indicating a key name during a media access session. The SBD includes a first repeating pattern element that includes a first sequence of timed key values of the key name. The first repeating pattern element indicates that the first sequence of the timed key values of the key name is relocated along a timeline or an orderline. A first key value of the key name corresponding to a timing or a segment number of a current segment of a sequence of segments can be determined based on the first repeating pattern element in the SBD. A request for the current segment can be transmitted to a media content server. The request includes a pair of the key name and the first key value.

The method comprising: analyzing the original video content to detect at least one marker, said marker comprising a marker surface delimited by a marker identification; loading profile data of a target user; determining, based at least on the profile data a replacement content; adjusting the replacement content into the marker surface; and replacing into the original video content the marker surface by the adjusted replacement content to produce the modified video content.
