PARTIAL FRAME REPLACEMENT ENABLING MULTIPLE VERSIONS IN AN INTEGRATED VIDEO PACKAGE
20220021931 · 2022-01-20 ·

Multiple different versions of media content are contained in a single package of audio-video media content, using compression algorithms that reduce storage and bandwidth required for storing multiple full-resolution versions of the media. Portions of individual frames are replaced during playback so that only the pixels that differ between versions need to be stored.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND DEVICES FOR PROVIDING SERVICE DIFFERENTIATION FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF FRAMES FOR VIDEO CONTENT

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, over a communication network, a plurality of requests for frames of video content to provide to a mobile device. Further embodiments can include determining a first portion of the plurality of requests are for pre-fetch frames of the video content, and providing, over the communication network, the pre-fetch frames to the mobile device over a default bearer path. Additional embodiments can include determining a second portion of the plurality of requests are for emergent frames of the video content, and providing, over the communication network, the emergent frames to the mobile device over a dedicated bearer path. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Movies with user defined alternate endings

User engagement with movies is increased by enabling users to use their own vision, imagination, and creativity to generate user created alternate endings and/or sequences. In the context of movies presented through computer simulation consoles, the simulation community activity can be enhanced by providing the option of sharing user-customized creations as well as watching (and possibly rating) other user's creations.

Method and system for selecting different versions of electronic media compositions in real time

The approach disclosed herein allows an end user to seamlessly switch and enjoy different versions of the same composition in a broadcast with one simple user action or gesture such as, for example, a swipe, button, click, or other user action. In particular, by utilizing a plurality of instances of an automation playback system or database with identical media libraries containing different versions of the same compositions, running the different versions of a selected composition locked together, and utilizing mechanics within the application, site, or platform, the user can switch between, for example, an uncensored and censored version of the same composition in real time.

BEHAVIORAL BIOMETRIC PROTECTION FOR WIRELESS CARRIER SUBSCRIBERS
20210360394 · 2021-11-18 ·

A video stream from a user device that is destined for a recipient device is received at a core network of a wireless carrier network. The video stream has a video quality that at least meets a quality threshold for behavioral biometric analysis. A determination of whether a video privacy policy for the user device permits transmission of the video stream of the video quality to the recipient device is made. In response to the video privacy policy not permitting the transmission of the video stream of the video quality, the video quality of the video stream is downgraded to generate a downgraded video stream that prevents behavioral biometric analysis for transmission to the recipient device. However, in response to the video privacy policy permitting the transmission of the video stream of the video quality, the video stream of the video quality is transmitted to the recipient device.

Methods and systems for dynamic data management

Methods and systems for managing data are disclosed. One method can comprise storing first data locally relative to a user device and storing second data remotely relative to the user device. The first data and the second data can relate to the same content. The method can also comprise generating a manifest comprising location information relating to the first data and the second data and receiving a request for transmission of one or more of the first data and the second data based upon the manifest.

Provided herein are systems and methods that allow for converting or translating Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) to HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and vice versa.

REFLECTIVE VIDEO DISPLAY APPARATUS FOR INTERACTIVE TRAINING AND DEMONSTRATION AND METHODS OF USING SAME
20210346781 · 2021-11-11 · ·

A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING A PLAYBACK TIMELINE

The system generates a display providing condensing content for display under time constraints. In response to a selection of a program that has already started, the system retrieves information about the program. Based on this information, and information about the user, the system selects a subset of segments of the program, forming a shorter version of the content that fits within a reduced time interval, from the time of selection to a scheduled end time. Accordingly, the user is presented with the condensed version of the currently selected program by, including the important or relevant segments of the program. The system generates the condensed content by selecting segments of the program that are determined to be important to the user and that cumulatively fit with the available viewing time. The system may sort, score, or otherwise rank segment identifiers based on user profile information.

Systems and methods for adaptively encoding video stream

The disclosed technology relates to adaptively encoding a video stream based on viewer engagement, content schedule and/or content characteristics. A system routes a video stream from a signal extractor to a first virtual encoder. The first virtual encoder is instantiated on a cloud platform and provides a first video output at a first bitrate. A second virtual encoder is instantiated on the cloud platform in response to a change in viewer count. The system routes the video stream from the signal extractor to the second virtual encoder. The second virtual encoder provides a second video output at a second bitrate. The second bitrate is different from the first bitrate.
