20200321030 · 2020-10-08 ·

A method includes receiving video segments from a transcoder of a media device. The video segments are associated with multimedia content. The method further includes detecting, during a delay associated with the multimedia content and using an artificial intelligence (AI) technique, a particular representation in at least one of the video segments. The method further includes generating metadata associated with the particular representation and sending the metadata to a multimedia player to enable the multimedia player to modify playback of the multimedia content based on the metadata.

DIRECTING USER FOCUS IN 360 VIDEO CONSUMPTION

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including obtaining media content and an identification of a plurality of points of interest in the media content, receiving a request from a user to view the media content, obtaining information about the user, identifying one or more highlight and/or degrade points based on the information about the user, modifying the media content to create highlighted content, the highlighted content being the media content modified to attract attention of the user to the highlight point and drive the attention of the user away from the degrade point, presenting the highlighted content to the user, and monitoring the user's consumption of the content. Other embodiments are disclosed.

METHOD FOR GENERATING VIDEO MASK INFORMATION, METHOD FOR PREVENTING OCCLUSION FROM BARRAGE, SERVER AND CLIENT
20200288186 · 2020-09-10 ·

Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for generating video mask information, a method for preventing occlusion from barrage, a server and a client. The method for generating video mask information comprises: identifying, for any video frame in the video data to be parsed, an area where a target object is located in the video frame; selecting a plurality of geometric figures to fit the area where the target object is located, to allow a combination of the plurality of geometric figures to cover the area where the target object is located; and generating the mask information of the video frame according to a fitting parameter of the plurality of geometric figures, and sending the mask information and data of the video frame to a client synchronously. Some embodiments of the present disclosure are adopted to avoid occlusion caused by the barrage information on the video image while the vast majority of the barrage information remains and reducing a bandwidth consumption of the client.

Aggregated stress monitoring to guide user interaction

A system and method for real-time alteration of media content based on stress monitoring is disclosed. A computer system present a single media content item in two distinct content streams to a first and second user. Using sensor generated data the computer system measures at least one user response indicator for the first and second user and estimates a stress level for the first and second users. The computer system determines whether the estimated stress level for the first user exceeds a first predetermined stress threshold. In accordance with a determination that the estimated stress level for the first user exceeds a first predetermined stress threshold the computer system alters the first stream of the presented media content item to modify the particular portion of the media content item associated with the estimated stress level for the first user.

TRANSMISSION APPARATUS, TRANSMISSION METHOD, RECEPTION APPARATUS, AND RECEPTION METHOD

The present technology relates to a transmission apparatus, a transmission method, a reception apparatus, and a reception method that make it possible to detect a watermark more easily. The transmission apparatus includes a generation section and a transmission section. The generation section generates watermark information for detecting a watermark. The transmission section transmits a broadcast signal including the watermark and the watermark information. When the transmission apparatus is provided, it enables the reception apparatus at a receiving end to detect the watermark more easily. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a transmission system including the transmission apparatus and the reception apparatus.

CUSTOMIZED 360-DEGREE MEDIA VIEWING
20200275156 · 2020-08-27 · ·

A device may be configured to render at least one spatial region of 360-degree media content, which may include two or more spatial regions. The device may include a receiver configured to receive the 360-degree media content and metadata associated with the 360-degree content. The metadata may include a classification of a respective spatial region of the 360-degree media content. The device may further include a memory configured to store a user preference and a sensor configured to detect a user movement. The device may include a processor configured to determine that the user movement is associated with a rendering of the respective spatial region. The processor may further determine whether the classification complies with the user preference and alter the rendering of the respective spatial region if the classification violates the user preference.

ENCODING DEVICE AND METHOD, REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM

The present technology relates to an encoding device, an encoding method, a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a program enabling each reproduction equipment to reproduce an appropriate content in a simplified manner. A content data decoding unit decodes encoded metadata and outputs zoom area information, which is included in metadata acquired as a result thereof, designating an area to be zoomed. A zoom area selecting unit selects one or a plurality of pieces of zoom area information from among the zoom area information. A video segmenting unit segments a zoom area represented by the selected zoom area information in a video based on video data and outputs zoom video data acquired as a result thereof. An audio converting unit performs an audio converting process according to the selected zoom area information for audio data and outputs zoom audio data acquired as a result thereof. The present technology can be applied to a reproduction device.

Method and apparatus for providing and using content advisory information on internet contents

Provided are a method and apparatus for providing and using content advisory (CA) information on Internet contents. A method of providing CA information by using a CA information server, includes receiving a request for the CA information on a content, from an Internet Protocol television (IPTV); searching for CA information on the content; and transmitting the found CA information to the IPTV. A method of using CA information when an IPTV reproduces a content not having the CA information, according to the present invention, includes transmitting a request for CA information, to a CA information server; receiving the CA information from the CA information server; analyzing the CA information; and applying the CA information.

In accordance with the present invention, a filtering process is based on the output side of a multimedia decoder. A navigator monitors the current play position of the multimedia content and compares that position with navigation objects. Each navigation object defines a start position, a stop position, and an filtering action to perform on the portion of the multimedia content that begins at the start position and ends at the stop position. When the current play position falls within the portion of multimedia content defined by a particular navigation object, the navigator activates the filtering action that was assigned to the navigation object. Filtering actions include skipping, muting, reframing, etc., the portion of multimedia content defined by a navigation object. A variety of systems may be used to implement the present invention, such as computer systems (consumer and server), television systems, and audio systems.
