CUSTOMIZED 360-DEGREE MEDIA VIEWING
Systems and methods are disclosed including techniques for rendering a 360-degree media content. Techniques disclosed include receiving a 360-degree media content and associated metadata that include a classification of a first spatial region from the received content. Techniques disclosed further include determining that a detected user movement is associated with a rendering of the first spatial region and determining whether the classification associated with the first spatial region complies with a stored user preference. If the classification violates the user preference, a path for gradually shifting the content rendering from a currently rendered spatial region to a spatial region that complies with the user preference is determined, and the received content is rendered according to the determined path.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR APPLYING BEHAVIORAL-BASED PARENTAL CONTROLS FOR MEDIA ASSETS
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for applying behavioral-based parental controls for media assets. The disclosed techniques herein discuss determining a media asset viewed by a user and character actions of a character within the media asset. Behavioral user data is received which includes a user action. A determination is made whether the user action matches one of the character actions. If a match is found, a parental control restriction setting for the media asset is applied and this parental control restriction is stored in memory.
Concepts for providing an enhanced media presentation
Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for providing an enhanced media presentation. In one embodiment, an enhanced media presentation is provided. To provide the enhanced media presentation, one or more content items associated with subject matter associated with a segment of an enhanced media presentation are identified. Each content item may be associated with at least one uniform resource identifier. Then, a content object based at least in part on at least one content item is created. The content object is an abstract representation of the content item. The content object can be associated with the segment and provided for simultaneous displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the segment.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RECORDING MEDIA ASSETS
Systems and methods are provided to record portions of media assets. User request is received to record a media asset together with a criterion for recording portions of that media asset. A content recognition algorithm is executed against segments of the media asset to determine a set of keywords associated with those segments. Separately a set of keywords associated with the criterion is generated. Sets of keywords are compared and segments that match the criterion are discovered. If it is determined that a first segment and third segment each match the criterion and a second segment does not, a delete indicator is added to the second segment and the third and first segments are compared. If those segments match the delete indicator is removed from the second segment.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO PROVIDE ADAPTIVE PLAY SETTINGS
Systems and methods are provided for applying adaptive play settings to a media asset. One example method includes identifying a media asset selected for playback and retrieving a plurality of user preferences. The user preferences correlate a play function to a type of a segment of a media asset. A plurality of segments in the media asset selected for playback are identified and each of the plurality of segments has a respective type. In response to identifying a plurality of segments in the media asset selected for playback, a respective play function is assigned to each of the respective plurality of segments based on the respective type of each of the plurality of segments.
Realtime wireless synchronization of live event audio stream with a video recording
Systems and methods are presented herein that facilitate temporally synchronizing, in real time, a separately sourced high quality audio segment of a live event with a video segment that is generated by a recording device associated with a member of the audience. An A-V Synchronization Application may synchronize a video segment of a live event that is generated from a personal electronic device of an audience member with a high quality audio segment that is separately sourced and generated by professional sound recording equipment at the live event. The result of the temporal synchronization is a high fidelity digital audio visual recording of the live event. In various, the audience member may stream, in real-time, the high fidelity digital audio visual recording to an additional electronic device at a different geo-location. In some examples, narrative audio segments may be also included as part of the high fidelity digital audio visual recording.
System and method for multiple video playback
A system and method for playing back video feeds includes determining from the video feeds a subset of currently available video feeds, determining a playback layout based on the number of currently available video feeds and playing back the subset of currently available video feeds within the playback layout. The system and method further includes determining at least one change in availability in a given video feed of the plurality of video feeds, updating the subset of currently available video feeds based on the at least one change, updating the playback layout based on the updated subset of currently available video feeds and playing back the updated subset of currently available video feeds within the updated playback layout.
Method and apparatus for targeting of interactive virtual objects
A method and an apparatus are used to target interactive virtual objects to subscribers in a television delivery system. Programs are selected and virtual object locations are defined in the selected programs. The virtual objects available for targeting are categorized and the categories are correlated to subscriber information to determine the optimum targeting of the virtual objects. The virtual objects may be targeted based on individual subscriber information or on information related to groups of subscribers. When a frame of a program includes a virtual object location, a default or an alternate virtual object is displayed. The virtual object location may change over space or time. The virtual object may be interactive, and may be used to link a subscriber to a remote location, such as an Internet web site. An operations center or a cable headend may generate a group assignment plan that assigns the subscribers' television terminals to groups, based on factors such as area of dominant influence and household income. A retrieval plan is then generated that instructs the television terminals to select the desired virtual object for display. The television terminals record which virtual objects were displayed, and report this information to the cable headends and the operations center. The reported information is used to generate billing for commercial advertisers, and to analyze viewer watching habits. Interactive virtual objects are received by the television terminal with directions on actions to be taken upon selection of the interactive virtual object. Actions may result in the initiation of processes locally at the television terminal, or communication with a remote site for the initiation of processes to be performed remotely. The invention uses upstream data reception hardware, databases and processing hardware and software, and corresponding features in the televisions to accomplish these functions.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO GENERATE GUARANTEED ADVERTISEMENT IMPRESSIONS
A computerized system for guaranteed advertisement impressions recognizes an identifier of a media content segment (e.g., an advertisement) to be played before playing of a recorded program as a result of selection of or initiation of playing a recorded program. In some embodiments, the system recognizes an identifier of a media content segment at or during initiation of playing the of the media content segment, or during playback of a media content stream including a recorded program. In in response to the recognition of the identifier, the system ignores (or disables the remote control sending), for a predetermined time period, all commands to skip or fast forward through all or part of the media content segment.
Methods, systems, and devices for enhancing viewing experience based on media content processing and delivery
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating metadata associated with a second portion of the first media content, and providing the first media content and the metadata to a media processor that presents the first portion of the first media content. The media processor identifies a media content type associated with the second portion of the first media content according to the metadata. Additional embodiments can include providing the second media content to the media processor. The media processor terminates presentation of the first media content prior to presentation of the second portion of the first media content and presents the second media content during a broadcast of the second portion of the first media content. Further, the media processor terminates presentation of the second media content, and presents the third portion of the first media content from the first broadcast channel. Other embodiments are disclosed.
