Systems and methods are disclosed herein for applying behavioral-based parental controls for media assets. The disclosed techniques herein discuss determining a media asset viewed by a user and character actions of a character within the media asset. Behavioral user data is received which includes a user action. A determination is made whether the user action matches one of the character actions. If a match is found, a parental control restriction setting for the media asset is applied and this parental control restriction is stored in memory.

A first electronic media is received at a first display device. The first display device is located in a first environment. One or more metadata items may be identified based on the first electronic media. The one or more metadata items associated with at least one portion of the first electronic media. One or more users is detected, including a first user, in the first environment. A view permission of the first user is determined based on the one or more metadata items. The view permission indicates whether the first user is permitted to view the at least one portion of the first electronic media. An electronic media update to the first electronic media is performed based on the view permission of the first user. The updated first electronic media is displayed by the first display device after performing the electronic media update.

A computerized system for guaranteed advertisement impressions recognizes an identifier of a media content segment (e.g., an advertisement) to be played before playing of a recorded program as a result of selection of or initiation of playing a recorded program. In some embodiments, the system recognizes an identifier of a media content segment at or during initiation of playing the of the media content segment, or during playback of a media content stream including a recorded program. In in response to the recognition of the identifier, the system ignores (or disables the remote control sending), for a predetermined time period, all commands to skip or fast forward through all or part of the media content segment.

Systems and methods for generating a notification when activity exceeds an authorization level are provided. A determination is made as to whether content currently being presented to a first user exceeds an authorization level associated with the first user. In response to determining that the content exceeds the authorization level, the content being presented is monitored to determine whether the content meets a criterion. An amount of time the content being presented meets the criterion is measured. In response to determining that the amount of time exceeds a threshold, a communication is transmitted to a second user indicating that the content currently being presented to the first user exceeds the authorization level.

A system for enhanced trickplay for video streaming.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating metadata associated with a second portion of the first media content, and providing the first media content and the metadata to a media processor that presents the first portion of the first media content. The media processor identifies a media content type associated with the second portion of the first media content according to the metadata. Additional embodiments can include providing the second media content to the media processor. The media processor terminates presentation of the first media content prior to presentation of the second portion of the first media content and presents the second media content during a broadcast of the second portion of the first media content. Further, the media processor terminates presentation of the second media content, and presents the third portion of the first media content from the first broadcast channel. Methods and devices for combining a mask with a selectively progressing video stream may include receiving a selection of at least one mask with a mask zone that obscures at least a portion of the video stream. The methods and devices may include receiving a selection to emplace the at least one mask at a first location within the video stream. The methods and devices may include receiving a selection to enable a tracking icon to move the at least one mask to a second location within the video stream while the video stream progresses. The methods and devices may include generating a combined output of the video stream and the selective emplacement and movement of the at least one mask during the video stream progression.

Methods, apparatus, and systems for automatically producing a video program in accordance with a script are provided. Various media assets are recorded and/or stored in a content database, together with metadata relating to each of the media assets. Each media asset is tagged with a unique content ID, the unique content ID associating the metadata with the media asset. The media assets are then indexed. Text from a script is then analyzed using natural language processing to locate one or more relevant indexed media assets. The located one or more media assets are assembled into a video program in accordance with the script.

A first electronic media is received at a first display device. The first display device is located in a first environment. One or more metadata items may be identified based on the first electronic media. The one or more metadata items associated with at least one portion of the first electronic media. One or more users is detected, including a first user, in the first environment. A view permission of the first user is determined based on the one or more metadata items. The view permission indicates whether the first user is permitted to view the at least one portion of the first electronic media. An electronic media update to the first electronic media is performed based on the view permission of the first user. The updated first electronic media is displayed by the first display device after performing the electronic media update.

A computing device may be configured to receive an audio segment and to determine whether the audio segment comprises one or more classification markers. The classification marker may be encoded in high-frequency sounds. One or more setting may be associated with the classification marker (e.g., objectionable, confusing, traumatic, dangerous, etc.). The computing device may be configured to, based on the one or more settings, perform an action (e.g., suppress the audio segment, provide a visual indicator, customized response, reducing volume, noise cancellation).
