METHODS AND APPARATUS TO CORRECT ERRORS IN AUDIENCE MEASUREMENTS FOR MEDIA ACCESSED USING OVER THE TOP DEVICES
Methods and apparatus to predict demographics are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a prediction manager to access matched demographic impression data when a database proprietor subscriber does not match user data corresponding to a media delivery device, the matched demographic impression data including first demographic data stored by a database proprietor; a linear scaler to linearly scale the matched demographic impression data when the matched demographic impression data covers all demographic categories under consideration; a differential scaler to differentially scale the matched demographic impression data when the matched demographic impression data does not cover at least one of the demographic categories; and a modeler to: generate a model representative of the matched demographic impression data linearly scaled or the matched demographic impression data differentially scaled; and generate predicted demographic impression data by applying the model to second impression data to correct for the database proprietor not storing second demographic data.
CONTENT RECOMMENDATION BASED ON A SYSTEM PREDICTION AND USER BEHAVIOR
Systems and methods for generating a content item based on a difference between a user confidence score and a confidence score are disclosed. For example, a system generates for output a first content item. While the first content item is being outputted, the system receives user data via sensors of a device. The system determines a user confidence score based on the user data and metadata of the first content item. The user confidence score indicates a user's perceived probability of an event occurring in the future. The system calculates a prediction score which estimates the likelihood of the event occurring in the future. In response to determining that the difference between the user confidence score and the prediction score exceeds a threshold, the system selects a second content item related to the event and generates for output a recommendation comprising an identifier of the second content item.
Probability weighted DASH based video streaming over an information-centric network
A method for video streaming over at least one information-centric network (ICN), comprising transmitting a request for video content to a server, receiving a media presentation description (MPD) file corresponding to the video content from the server in response to the request for the video content, wherein the MPD file identifies names of copies of the video content in the at least one ICN, and wherein the copies of the video content represent different quality levels of the video content, probing the at least one ICN for the copies of the video content by searching the names of the copies, calculating a probability for each of the copies of the video content based on results of the probing, and fetching one of the copies of the video content based on the probability calculated for each of the copies of the video content.
Methods and apparatus to correct errors in audience measurements for media accessed using over the top devices
Methods and apparatus to correct errors in measuring audiences of over the top media are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a demographic corrector to identify first impression data received from a computer, the first impression data including demographic data of users, the computer producing a misattribution error in the first impression data, and the misattribution error corresponding to a difference between reported demographics in the first impression data and actual demographics corresponding to the first impression data. The example demographic corrector further is to generate a model based on a difference between the first impression data and second data and generate corrected demographic data by applying the model to the first impression data. In addition, the example apparatus includes a viewership assigner to correct the misattribution error produced by the computer by assigning viewership to an impression associated with the first impression data using the corrected demographic data, at least one of the demographic corrector or the viewership assigner is a logic circuit.
Audiovisual content presentation dependent on metadata
A system for utilizing metadata created either at a central location for shared use by connected users, or at each individual user's location, to enhance user's enjoyment of available broadcast programming content. A variety of mechanisms are employed for automatically and manually identifying and designating programming segments, associating descriptive metadata which the identified segments, distributing the metadata for use at client locations, and using the supplied metadata to selectively record and playback desired programming.
Probabilistic modeling for anonymized data integration and bayesian survey measurement of sparse and weakly-labeled datasets
An example apparatus includes processor circuitry to: access first input data from meters, the meters to monitor media devices associated with a plurality of panelists, the first input data including media source data and panel data; reduce a dimensionality of the first input data to generate second input data of reduced dimensionality relative to the first input data, the dimensionality of the first input data to be reduced based on a prior probability of an audience rating associated with the plurality of panelists and an approximation of a dependency of the audience rating on at least one of the media source data and the panel data; and decode the second input data of reduced dimensionality to output a probability model parameter for a multivariate probability model, the multivariate probability model having dimensions corresponding to the first input data, the multivariate probability model to label census data.
Methods and apparatus to correct errors in audience measurements for media accessed using over-the-top devices
An example system comprising at least one memory, programmable circuitry, and instructions to cause the programmable circuitry to obtain first time information corresponding to one or more first times that a panelist accessed first media via a television, obtain second time information corresponding to one or more second times that a household accessed second media via an over-the-top device, the second time information matching the first time information and associated with corrected demographic information of members of the household, determine that a first genre of the first media matches a second genre of the second media, determine that a member of the household accessed the second media via the over-the-top device based on historical media access events of the panelist, and attribute the access of the second media to the member of the household to create a corrected demographic impression record.
Database driven computer systems and computer-implemented methods for real-time performance of web originated activities related to media events
In some embodiments, the present invention is directed to a computer system which includes: a specifically programmed server, where the server includes a plurality of modules configured to perform at least: electronically and periodically obtaining, over a computer network, media data from a plurality of computer systems of media data sources, where the media data is associated with a plurality of media airings of a plurality creatives; electronically and periodically obtaining web tracking transaction data from a computer system of a web tracking electronic source; where the web tracking transaction data including web tracking metrics for web originated activities; where web originated activities include web orders placed in response to the offer associated with the creative; for each web order record in the transactional web data: attributing, by the specifically programmed server, a particular web order to a particular media airing; and displaying a real time updatable web attribution report.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO ASSIGN VIEWERS TO MEDIA METER DATA
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to assign viewers to media meter data are disclosed. An apparatus includes memory to store instructions, and a processor to execute the instructions to at least: determine first probabilities for first panelists in a media meter household during a first set of time periods, determine second probabilities for second panelists in a plurality of learning households during a second set of time periods, compare the first probabilities and the second probabilities to identify a candidate household from the plurality of learning households to associated with the media meter household, and impute ones of the first number of minutes to individual ones of the first panelists when second panelist behavior data associated with the candidate household indicates activity during one of the second set of time periods that matches activity in the media meter household during one of the first set of time periods.
