INTERACTIVE VIEWING EXPERIENCES BY DETECTING ON-SCREEN TEXT
Systems, methods, and devices for an interactive viewing experience by detecting on-screen data are disclosed. One or more frames of video data are analyzed to detect regions in the visual video content that contain text. A character recognition operation can be performed on the regions to generate textual data. Based on the textual data and the regions, a graphical user interface (GUI) definition to can be generated. The GUI definition can be used to generate a corresponding GUI superimposed onto the visual video content to present users with controls and functionality with which to interact with the text or enhance the video content. Context metadata can be determined from external sources or by analyzing the continuity of audio and visual aspects of the video data. The context metadata can then be used to improve the character recognition or inform the generation of the GUI.
METHODS OF AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTENT SEARCH BASED ON ENVIRONMENT SAMPLING
The present disclosure provides user interface methods of and systems for displaying at least one available action overlaid on an image, comprising displaying an image; selecting at least one action and assigning a ranking weight thereto based on at least one of (1) image content, (2) current device location, (3) location at which the image was taken, (4) date of capturing the image; (5) time of capturing the image; and (6) a user preference signature representing prior actions chosen by a user and content preferences learned about the user; and ranking the at least one action based on its assigned ranking weight.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING HOTSPOT RECOMMENDATION POP-UP WINDOW, AND MEDIUM AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A method and device for controlling a hotspot recommendation pop-up window, a computer-readable medium and an electronic device are provided. On reception of a pop-up window display instruction, a pop-up window including prompt options corresponding to multiple hotspots is displayed on the hot video playing page. In a case that the pop-up window is displayed on the hot video playing page, a first control on the hot video playing page except for the pop-up window is set to a disabled state. Further, the user can select among the prompt options corresponding to multiple hotspots included in the pop-up window.
Determining points of interest in a content item
Aspects discussed herein relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods to identify points of interest of viewers of a content item concurrently being transmitted in a linear stream to the viewers. A point of interest may refer to a segment of the content item that caused a surge in user reactions. During a subsequent transmission of the content item, identified points of interests may be displayed to the viewer. The viewer may select the point of interest in the content item to begin playback of the point of interest in the content item.

Method and apparatus for signaling user interactions on overlay and grouping overlays to background for omnidirectional content
A method, apparatus and computer program product describing groups of overlays, such as semantically correlated overlays, to background media content. In the context of a method, a group of overlays to background media content is defined by metadata (60). The overlays include semantically correlated overlays having alternative overlays representing content with different levels of detail or overlays providing different choices of content. The method also includes receiving client selection of a respective overlay from a group of overlays (62). In response to the client selection, the method causes the respective overlay to be provided. The respective overlay is received (64) for presentation concurrent with background media content (68).

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING INTERACTIVE VISUALIZATIONS OF DIGITAL CONTENT TO A USER
A computer-implemented method may include: receiving, by a first computer server, content provider data and content item data; identifying a plurality of profile elements by applying machine learning techniques to the received content provider data and content item data; calculating a first plurality of profile element scores for the content provider in each of the plurality of profile elements and a second plurality of profile element scores for the plurality of content items in each of the plurality of profile elements; determining, by utilizing one or more distance algorithms, profile element vector distances between the first plurality of profile element scores for the content provider and the plurality of second profile element scores for the plurality of content items; ranking the plurality of content items based on the determined profile element vector distances; and generating an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) displaying a plurality of radar graphs.
