METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR VIEWING MISSED MEDIA CONTENT
20220174354 · 2022-06-02 ·

Systems and methods are described for viewing missed media content. A media content stream is received at a user device. A first timestamp is logged, in response to determining a first failure in the receiving of the content stream, indicating when the first failure in the receiving of the content stream to the user device occurred. A second timestamp is logged, in response to determining a first restoration of the receiving of the content stream, indicating when the first restoration in the receiving of the content stream to the user device occurred. A first recorded portion of the media content stream is retrieved. The first recorded portion has a start point corresponding to the first timestamp and an end point corresponding to the second timestamp.

Automatic diagnostics alerts for streaming content encoded by multiple entities
11336506 · 2022-05-17 · ·

Automatic diagnostics alerts for streaming multiple types of content is disclosed. At a first time, a set of metrics for a plurality of groups of streaming sessions is computed. A streaming session in a group is associated with streaming of a piece of content encoded by an entity. The streaming of the piece of content encoded by the entity is associated with streaming of another piece of content. An anomaly is identified at least in part by performing anomaly detection using the set of metrics. A cause of the identified anomaly is diagnosed. An alert is generated based at least in part on the diagnosis.

Home leakage (HL) detection with direction-to-source indication

A method, an apparatus and a system that may be configured to determine and provide a direction-to-source indicator on a signal level meter or other test instrument that may be used by a user of the meter (e.g., a technician, maintenance personnel or other personnel) to locate the source of leakage such as home leakage (HL).

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE UTILIZATION OF A LOW-LATENCY VIDEO SOURCE
20220141509 · 2022-05-05 · ·

A system and method for selectively utilizing an over-the-air broadcast source to provide low-latency content as an alternative to conventional over-the-top sourced content. The disclosed technology can provide automatic switching to an available low-latency content source, or switch to a low-latency source only after a user affirmatively elects such. The system and method are implemented utilizing standard premises equipment, and enable the insertion of regional commercial messages into the low-latency content stream prior to viewing.

Data distribution system, method and computer-readable storage medium

A data distribution system includes: an edge stream-pushing server configured to receive streaming media data packets sent by a stream pusher, serialize the streaming media data packets, and forward the serialized streaming media data packets to a plurality of central servers; a central server configured to cache the serialized streaming media data packets, if a serialized back-to-source request from the edge stream-pulling server is received, determine, a start position of to-be-transmitted streaming media data packets according to the serialized back-to-source request, and send the cached streaming media data packets to the edge stream-pulling server according to the start position; and an edge stream-pulling server configured to deserialize received streaming media data packets to restore the received streaming media data packets, and send the restored streaming media data packets to a user terminal.

Frame conversion for adaptive streaming alignment

Methods for generating an AV bitstream (e.g., an MPEG-2 transport stream or bitstream segment having adaptive streaming format) such that the AV bitstream includes at least one video I-frame synchronized with at least one audio I-frame, e.g., including by re-authoring at least one video or audio frame (as a re-authored I-frame or a re-authored P-frame). Typically, a segment of content of the AV bitstream which includes the re-authored frame starts with an I-frame and includes at least one subsequent P-frame. Other aspects are methods for adapting such an AV bitstream, audio/video processing units configured to perform any embodiment of the inventive method, and audio/video processing units which include a buffer memory which stores at least one segment of an AV bitstream generated in accordance with any embodiment of the inventive method.

Automatic diagnostics alerts

Generating automatic diagnostics alerts is disclosed. At a first time, a set of quality metrics for a plurality of groups of streaming sessions is computed. An anomaly is identified at least in part by performing anomaly detection using the set of quality metrics and historical information. A cause of the identified anomaly is diagnosed. An alert is generated based at least in part on the diagnosis.

GENERATING AND PROCESSING VIDEO DATA
20230319321 · 2023-10-05 ·

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods and apparatus for generating video frames when there is a change in the rate of received video data. In one embodiment there is provided a method of processing video data which comprises generating a video frame using received video data, encoding said video frame into a latent vector using an encoder part of a generative model, modifying the latent vector and decoding the modified latent vector using a decoder part of the generative model to generate a new video frame in response to determining a reduction in generating the video frames using the received video data.

VIDEO QUALITY ESTIMATION APPARATUS, VIDEO QUALITY ESTIMATION METHOD, AND VIDEO QUALITY ESTIMATION SYSTEM

A video quality estimation apparatus (100) according to the present disclosure includes a first collection unit (101) configured to collect network quality information about a network pertaining to distribution of a video, a second collection unit (102) configured to collect video quality information about the video, and an estimation unit (103) configured to estimate a first bit rate corresponding to a resolution of the video based on the network quality information and the video quality information.

QUADRANT-BASED FAULT DETECTION AND LOCATION

Devices, systems and methods that determine both the existence of, and location where, packets were dropped in transit between a sending device and a receiving device. A network monitoring unit is located between the sending and receiving devices, and monitors packets exchanged between the two to determine the location where packets were dropped.
