Methods, systems, and apparatuses for improved content scoring and delivery are described. A quality score for delivered content may be determined based on one or more output metrics. A first quality score may be provided to a content distribution network. The content distribution network may instruct the user device, or the user device may determine without receiving such an instruction, of methods/processes by which it may improve the one or more output metrics associated with output of the delivered content by adjusting one or more output parameters. The first quality score may also be used by the content distribution network to determine methods/processes by which network-related parameters and constraints may be managed in order to improve the quality of delivered content.

Systems and methods are described herein for streaming during unavailability of a content server. Upon determining that there are conditions indicating buffering issues during delivery of a media asset, a server determines a first group of devices suitable for receiving the media asset from the server and sharing the media asset on a peer-to-peer network. Then, the server determines a second group of devices suitable for receiving the media asset on a peer-to-peer network from a first group device. The server then determines groupings within which to share and receive the media asset. Next, the server transmits instructions to the devices in the first group to maintain in buffer and share certain portions of the media asset with the second group devices within their grouping. Finally, the server updates information detailing the media asset portions the devices are maintaining in buffer and sharing.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, embodiments of a video adapter that can include transmitting a first probe video clip to a communication device over a communication network, detecting first probe information from the communication device over the communication network, and identifying a first group of network conditions based on the first probe information. Further embodiments can include obtaining video content from a video content server over the communication network, and delivering the video content to the communication device over the communication network according to the first group of network conditions. A remote image processing method, applied to a remote server, includes: obtaining a recommended bit rate, where the recommended bit rate matches an environment parameter of a network in which the remote server is located, and the network environment parameter is used to represent a capability of transmitting an amount of data by the network in a unit time; and generating, based on the recommended bit rate, adjustment parameters corresponding to different regions in a to-be-processed image, and processing the corresponding regions by using the adjustment parameters, to obtain a single-frame image used for display, so that an amount of data included in the single-frame image matches the recommended bit rate.

A method for providing media content within a media distribution network. The method comprises transforming source media content into an interim format, thereby providing transformed content. Furthermore, the method comprises storing the transformed content on at least one core storage unit. In addition, the method comprises receiving a request for the source media content from a client. The method further comprises encoding the transformed content or intermediate coded content derived therefrom into encoded content suitable for transmission over a core network and/or an edge network, as well as sending the encoded content via the core network and/or the edge network to the client.

Disclosed are a delay control method, a delay control apparatus, a terminal device and a storage medium. The delay control method comprises: initializing a cached data amount, and setting an initial delay threshold value; acquiring real-time cached data of a client, and determining a network status of the client according to same; and adjusting the current delay threshold value according to the network status. According to the delay control method, a network status of a user end is determined according to cached data of the user end, and a delay time is adjusted, so that in a large-scale live broadcast scenario, a player can dynamically control, according to the network status of each user, a delay time of each user end in real time, and improve the viewing experience of user.

Systems and methods are described that relate to on-demand compression for electronic data, such as media content, through a communication pathway. The communication pathway may be configured to multicast media content to a plurality of end-users in a service group. In certain embodiments, the service group may comprise a service group node having a quadrature amplitude modulation device. In one exemplary method, it may be determined whether the amount of media content being transmitted meets a first utilization threshold. The determination may be based on, at least in part, by measurements taken at one or more electronic devices located throughout a network or system. If the first bandwidth utilization threshold is not met, media content may be transmitted in a first format. If the first bandwidth utilization threshold is met, at least a portion of the media content may be transmitted in a first optimized delivery technique.

A method may comprise collecting data from a core network, an operator network and a customer premise network. KPI values corresponding to one or more KPIs may be determined, based on the collected data. KQI values corresponding to one or more KQIs may be determined, based on the one or more of the determined KPI values. The determined KQI values may be output to an operator. In an embodiment, data collected from the core network may include data collected from one or more analyzer devices and head end probes. Data collected from a customer premise network may include data collected from last mile equipment or customer premise probes.

Provided herein are various embodiments for synchronizing playback of audio and video. An embodiment operates by determining that a first quality video is being received at a media device. It is determined that a buffer of the media device is not large enough to buffer the first quality video long enough to synchronize an output of the high quality video with the output of the audio by one or more wireless speakers. A second quality of the video that the buffer can hold long enough to synchronize is identified, wherein the second quality of the video is lower than the first quality of the video. The media device outputs the video at the second quality and the corresponding audio to the one or more wireless speakers.

Provided are a method and device for transmitting an image. The method includes: adjusting an image compression ratio based on a current network transmission condition; performing compression processing on an image to be transmitted according to the adjusted image compression ratio to obtain a compressed image; and sending the compressed image to a viewing device side for the viewing device side to play the compressed image. The present disclosure ensures the fluency of image playback on the viewing device side, and improves the viewing experience of a user.
