The document-management server manages the document data based on the attribute of the specific metadata transmitted from the image-processing server. A metadata-setting-receiving unit receives a change in the specific metadata. A notification-priority-adding unit adds a notification priority to the specific metadata for which a change is received by the metadata-setting-receiving unit. A change-notifying unit creates a change notification for informing that the specific metadata has been changed, and transmits the created change notification to an administrator of the image-processing server at a transmission timing based on the notification priority.
Printing data by an image forming apparatus using a same or different network as a printing data storage device
A server and a method of operating the same are provided. The method includes receiving metadata corresponding to printing data from a printing data storage device that stores the printing data, receiving, from an image forming apparatus, a request to transmit printing job information, determining a transmission route of the printing data based on whether the printing data storage device and the image forming apparatus are capable of communicating with each other, generating printing job information including the metadata and the transmission route, and transmitting the printing job information to the image forming apparatus.

Apparatuses and methods for reproducing an image in a plurality of displays are provided. The method includes obtaining a display identifier that identifies a position of a display among the plurality of displays, based on information on an arrangement of the plurality of displays transmitted by the image reproduction control apparatus; obtaining an image segment to be reproduced in a display corresponding to the display identifier among the plurality of displays, from the image; determining the importance factor of the image segment based on at least one of the image and the viewing environment of the plurality of displays; generating an encoded image segment by encoding the image segment according to an encoding method corresponding to the importance factor; and transmitting a bitstream including the display identifier, the importance factor and the encoded image segment to the image reproduction control apparatus.
SCENE AND ACTIVITY IDENTIFICATION IN VIDEO SUMMARY GENERATION
Video and corresponding metadata is accessed. Events of interest within the video are identified based on the corresponding metadata, and best scenes are identified based on the identified events of interest. A video summary can be generated including one or more of the identified best scenes. The video summary can be generated using a video summary template with slots corresponding to video clips selected from among sets of candidate video clips. Best scenes can also be identified by receiving an indication of an event of interest within video from a user during the capture of the video. Metadata patterns representing activities identified within video clips can be identified within other videos, which can subsequently be associated with the identified activities.
Systems and methods for printing a document using a graphical code image
A system comprises a server, a mobile device and an image forming apparatus. The server includes a storage manager for managing storage of documents and associated document identifiers, an image forming apparatus interface for receiving a set request identifying a user from the image forming apparatus and for providing associated document identifiers to the image forming apparatus, and a mobile device interface for receiving from the mobile device a document request containing a document identifier and for providing in response a document associated with the document identifier to the mobile device, the document identifier received by the mobile device from the image forming apparatus as a graphical code image. The mobile device includes a camera for capturing a snapshot of the graphical code image from the image forming apparatus, and a server interface for sending the document request to the server and for receiving the document.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, an image shooting apparatus includes an imaging unit, a transmission unit, and a processor that is configured to acquire an image captured by the imaging unit to generate a shot image and control the transmission unit to transmit, to an information acquiring apparatus, (i) the shot image, and (ii) instruction information for instructing the information acquiring apparatus to acquire supplementary information, with a shooting instruction. The supplementary information is information which is acquired by a sensor of the information acquiring apparatus and which is to be added to the transmitted shot image.

An image reading device is configure to generate an initial data name of image data to be transmitted to a plurality of designated external devices. The image reading device transmits a list request, to each of the plurality of external devices, to transmit a list of data names regarding image data stored in respective external devices. It is determined whether the initial data name is included in at least one of the lists. The image reading device changes the initial data name to another data name which is included in none of the lists when it is determined that the initial data name is included in at least one of the lists. Otherwise, the image reading device does not change the initial data name. Thereafter, the image reading device transmits the image data to the first external device and the second external device using the data name determined as above.
