Negotiable instruments with intelligent microprint
A negotiable instrument such as a check includes a unique microprint identifier that allows for authentication while preventing unauthorized reproduction and alternation. A printing system generates the identifier after receiving a customer order for printing a plurality of negotiable instruments, to allow inclusion of information that is specific to the customer order and/or the printing process. In various embodiments, the identifier is unique to each or each subset of the plurality of negotiable instruments and facilitates authentication of each of the negotiable instruments when needed.
CONVERTING BIOMETRIC DATA INTO TWO-DIMENSIONAL IMAGES FOR USE IN AUTHENTICATION PROCESSES
Methods and systems for converting biometric data into two-dimensional images for use in authentication processes are described. Biometric data is received and then hashed into a string of characters. A 2-D image is created based on the hashed string of characters. The 2-D image is then provided for printing on a personal transaction card.
PATTERN AND SPECTRUM SECURITY ONE-TIME PRINTING OF PACKAGING VERIFICATION METHOD
A pattern and spectrum security one-time printing of packaging verification method for verifying the authenticity of an external packing container of a commodity, which external packing container is printed with a security pattern on the surface using a specific spectrum of tangible fluorescent ink. The user checks the location of the security pattern by visualizing the tangible fluorescent ink on the external packing container, and then uses image capturing device to shoot the security pattern through a filter to capture the pattern image of the tangible fluorescent ink, a processor of the identification system loads in the captured pattern image, a software program in the processor matches the spectral band and shape of the captured pattern image with storage data in the database to verify the authenticity of the security pattern. The user can identify the authenticity of the commodity, enhancing commodity security and reducing the risk of being forged.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATION OF COLLECTABLE OBJECTS
Provided is a system and method for authentication of collectable objects. A hi-resolution digital camera in communication with a nonvolatile data storage device having a data partition capable of being made immutable is provided. The nonvolatile data storage device is compatible with a computerized device, and the hi-resolution digital camera is operated to record at least one hi-resolution digital image of at least one unique appearance characteristic of a collectable object at an image resolution of at least 300 pixel dots per inch at 1:1 image scale. The at least one hi-resolution digital image is stored in the data partition of the nonvolatile data storage device, together with additional image data. A tamper-resistant marking associated with the collectable object is placed on the nonvolatile data storage device
Authenticating printed paper documents and websites against a blockchain record
A system and method are disclosed for rendering published documents tamper evident. Embodiments render classes of documents tamper evident with cryptographic level security or detect tampering events, where such security was previously unavailable, for example, in documents printed using common printers without special paper or ink. Embodiments enable proving the date of document content without the need for expensive third party archival, including documents held, since their creation, entirely in secrecy or in untrustworthy environments, such as on easily-altered, publicly-accessible internet sites. Embodiments can use a document's prior registration date in a blockchain to establish a no-later-than date-of-existence for that document. Embodiments can extend the useful life of integrity verification algorithms, such as hash functions, even when applied to binary executable files. Embodiments can efficiently identify whether multiple document versions are substantially similar, even if they are not identical, thus potentially reducing storage space requirements.
Security mark with anti-copyable effect
A document contains a security element that combines a correlation mark and pantograph mark. The pantograph mark includes a dot pattern, part of which is printed to correspond to foreground pixels of the correlation mark, and another part of which is printed to correspond to background pixels of the correlation mark.

Image processing apparatus, image processing method, and recording medium
An image processing apparatus includes: an embed-data generating unit configured to generate embed-data, which is to be embedded in input-image-data, the input-image-data representing an image including a first color, the embed-data representing an image including a second color; an inverting unit configured to invert the image represented by the embed-data, in response to meeting a predetermined condition relating to the first color and the second color; and an output-image-data generating unit configured to embed, in the input-image-data, embed-data representing the image that is inverted by the inverting unit, in order to generate output-image-data in a case where the predetermined condition is met, and configured to embed, in the input-image-data, embed-data representing the image that is not inverted by the inverting unit, in order to generate output-image-data in a case where the predetermined condition is not met.
Authentication method and system
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for the production and labeling of objects in a manner suitable for the prevention and detection of counterfeiting. Thus, the system incorporates a variety of features that make unauthorized reproduction difficult. In addition, the present invention provides a system and method for providing a dynamically reconfigurable watermark, and the use of the watermark to encode a stochastically variable property of the carrier medium for self-authentication purposes.
Electronic Imprinting Device That Affixes Imprint Data to Document Data
An electronic imprinting device includes a display, an operation unit, a recognition processing unit, a storage unit, and an imprint processing unit. The display performs a display. The operation unit accepts an operation of a user. The recognition processing unit recognizes a character included in first document data and detects a guide character that indicates an imprinting position. The storage unit stores imprint data representing an imprint. The imprint processing unit, when the recognition processing unit recognizes that the first document data includes the guide character, generates second document data as data to which an imprint image represented by the imprint data is affixed at a position of the guide character, the second document data including a content of the first document data.
