Occlusion detection by pressure measurement
A system, device and method for left atrial appendage occlusion detection is disclosed. The system for occlusion detection comprises a sheath; a delivery system comprising: a delivery catheter extending between a proximal end and a distal end; and a handle coupled to the proximal end of the delivery catheter; a medical tool coupled to a distal end of the delivery catheter at a target location within a portion of an organ of a patient, the medical device comprising a hub including a bore defining an axis, an occluder portion coupled to the hub and an anchor portion extending between a first end and a second end; at least one pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure of the target cavity while blood is suctioned form inside the left atrial appendage; and at least one processor configured to process the pressure measurement acquired from the at least one pressure sensor.
EMBOLISATION SYSTEM FOR PROMOTING CLOT FORMATION
An embolisation device (100) for promoting clot formation in a bodily lumen (170), comprising a stem (110) and a plurality of flexible bristles (120) extending outwardly from the stem, the bristles having a contracted delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration in which the bristles extend at least radially outwardly from the stem to anchor the device in the lumen. The embolisation device comprises a flow restrictor configured to restrict flow through the bodily lumen. The flow restrictor comprises: a membrane support (135) having a contracted delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration and comprising a self-expanding mesh extending at least radially outwardly from the stem; and an occluding membrane (130) mounted on the membrane support (135). The occlusion rate of the occluding mesh membrane is greater than that of the membrane support. The flow restrictor is attached to the stem at a first longitudinal end, the flow restrictor further comprising an open second longitudinal end. The occluding membrane is configured to restrict flow through the lumen when the device is deployed and the membrane support is in the expanded deployed configuration.
Layered braided aneurysm treatment device
A braided implant is provided that can secure within an aneurysm sac, occlude a majority of the aneurysm's neck, and at least partially fill the aneurysm sac. The implant can include a tubular braid that can be set into a predetermined shape, compressed for delivery through a microcatheter, and implanted in at least one implanted position. In some examples, the tubular braid can be implanted in two distinct implanted shapes, allowing for treatment of a wide range of aneurysm sizes. In some examples, the implanted braid can include a compaction resistant column spanning the height of the aneurysm.
Percutaneous Catheter Directed Intravascular Occlusion Devices
Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved vascular occlusion device for occlusion of a passageway, cavity, or the like. According to one embodiment, a medical device for occluding a left atrial appendage is provided. The medical device includes a first portion having at least one plane of occlusion that is configured to be positioned outside of the left atrial appendage, and a second portion having at least one plane of occlusion that is configured to be at least partially positioned within a cavity defined by the left atrial appendage.
LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE CLOSURE DEVICE WITH ANTI-THROMBOGENIC COVERING
Medical devices as wells as methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a left atrial appendage device. The left atrial appendage device may include an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration. A fabric mesh may be disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame. An anti-thrombogenic coating may be disposed along the fabric mesh.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO ENABLE PYLORIC CLOSURE
Devices, systems, and methods described herein relate to affecting an internal diameter of a body lumen, and, in many examples, of a pylorus. A silk-based bulking agent may be injected in a pyloric tissue so as to reduce an effective inner diameter of the pylorus. A multi-part occluding agent may be injected into a pylorus on the surface of the pyloric tissue to occlude the pylorus alone or in combination with the silk-based bulking agent.
Delivery and detachment mechanisms for vascular implants
Vascular delivery systems configured to deliver an implant to a location within a vasculature can include one or more control wires controllable by a user to detach the implant from the delivery system. Control wires can cause a feature of the delivery system to mechanically engage a hub at a proximal end of an implant. Proximal or distal movement of the control wire can allow the feature to disengage from the hub, thereby allowing release of the implant.
Guide extension catheter with expandable balloon
Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a guide extension catheter. The guide extension catheter may include a proximal shaft having a first outer diameter. A distal sheath may be attached to the proximal shaft and may have a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. The distal sheath may be designed to extend past a coronary ostium and into a coronary artery so that another medical device can pass therethrough toward the coronary artery. An expandable balloon may be coupled to the distal sheath.
Method and device for secluding a body vessel
A device for secluding a body vessel may include a distal balloon, a proximal balloon, an aspiration port positioned adjacent to the distal balloon, an injection port positioned adjacent to the proximal balloon, and a lumen assembly. The lumen assembly may comprise a central lumen, a distal balloon lumen operably coupled to the distal balloon, a proximal balloon lumen operably coupled to the proximal balloon, an aspiration port lumen operably coupled to the aspiration port, and an injection port lumen operably coupled to the injection port. The distal balloon and the proximal balloon may define a treatment chamber therebetween, and the aspiration port and the injection port may be positioned within the treatment chamber on the lumen assembly.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR TREATING THE LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE
Disclosed are embodiments of a method for occluding a left atrial appendage (LAA) and other cavities or openings within a body. Some embodiments of the method can include an implant configured to be deployed within the LAA or other cavity, configured to be expanded or moved against a wall portion of the LAA or other cavity, and configured to twist at least a portion of the LAA or other cavity when the implant is rotated. Thereafter, one or more securing elements, staples, sutures, or other fasteners can be implanted in the gathered tissue to hold the tissue in the gathered state, thereby occluding the opening of the LAA or other cavity. In some embodiments, the opening of the LAA or other cavity can be occluded by elongating or otherwise reshaping the opening using an implant device, and securing the opening in the occluded state.
