Dynamic power adjustment for small cells

A radio node may transmit a signal using a transmit power. Then, the radio node may adjust the transmit power within a range of values. The adjustment may include reducing the transmit power when a spatial received signal strength indication (RSSI) metric of the radio node is greater than a first threshold value and a coverage criterion is met. Note that the spatial RSSI metric of the radio node may correspond to a set of temporal RSSI metrics of the radio node received from neighboring radio nodes. Moreover, the coverage criterion may be that less than a portion of RSSI measurements of the radio node associated with electronic devices, which are communicatively attached with the radio node, is less than a second threshold value. Alternatively, the adjustment may include increasing the transmit power when the spatial RSSI metric is less than the first threshold value.

Systems and methods for mitigating cellular and terrestrial captive site interference

Systems and methods model earth stations and other captive terrestrial sites as simulated cell sites in a radio access network (RAN) to identify potential cellular network interferers with the earth stations. A computing device selects an earth station within a geographic area of a RAN segment and model the earth station as a cell within the RAN segment, wherein the modeling creates a simulated earth station cell. The computing device obtains sector carrier data for cells in the RAN segment and scores, based on the sector carrier data, neighboring cells to the simulated earth station cell. The scoring indicates a level of potential interference of the neighboring cells with the earth station based on geo-spatial relevance. The computing device identifies projected mobility interference in neighboring cells to the earth station and provides prioritization recommendations for interference mitigation for the earth station based on the scoring and the identifying.

Detecting static channels

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on two or more measurements on a channel taken at different points in time, that the channel is classified as static. The wireless communication device may perform at least one optimization based at least in part on determining that the channel is classified as static. For example, the at least one optimization may include modifying a channel state feedback procedure, reducing a periodicity associated with a measurement gap, modifying a filtering associated with measurements of the channel, reducing a threshold associated with beam switching, and/or refraining from performing at least one filtering at a radio frequency receiver of the wireless communication device. Numerous other aspects are described.

Techniques for communicating on multiple carriers in a wireless communication network are described. In an aspect, different transmit power levels may be used for different carriers to mitigate interference. A first base station may be assigned one or more carriers among multiple carriers available for communication. A second base station may be assigned one or more carriers not assigned to the first base station. Each base station may communicate on each assigned carrier at a first (e.g., full) transmit power level and may communicate on each unassigned carrier at a second (e.g., lower) transmit power level lower. The first and second base stations may belong in different power classes or support different association types. In another aspect, control information may be sent on a designated carrier to support communication on multiple carriers. In yet another aspect, a base station may broadcast bar information indicating the status of carriers.
