20220395278 · 2022-12-15 · ·

Disclosed is a false lumen closure assembly for closing a false lumen in a body vessel including a compressed false lumen occluder, a carrier catheter and a retractable sheath. The compressed false lumen occluder includes a stent graft including at least one occlusive barrier across the stent graft to occlude blood flow through an interior of the stent graft. The carrier catheter carries the false lumen occluder and extends from a proximal end proximal of the false lumen occluder to a distal end distal of the false lumen occluder, and passes the false lumen occluder exteriorly of the stent graft. The compressed false lumen occluder and at least part of the carrier catheter are disposed in a lumen of the retractable sheath.

Vaso-occlusive devices with in-situ stiffening

A vaso-occlusive device is constructed out of dissimilar metallic materials that are in contact or otherwise in close proximity with one another, thereby causing the device to undergo galvanic corrosion when exposed to an electrolytic medium, such as blood or other body fluid, wherein one of the dissimilar metallic materials is zirconium or zirconium alloy to create a corrosive product including zirconia having a relatively high hardness, a relatively high fracture toughness, and a relatively high stability when the device is implanted in a vasculature site, such as an aneurysm.

Endoluminal pursestring device

An endoluminal pursestring device is provided and includes a handle assembly, a shaft, an elongated fork, a plurality of surgical fasteners disposed with the shaft, and a suture engaged with the surgical fasteners. The suture is secured to a head of each of the surgical fasteners, and extends proximally through the handle assembly. In use, a distal end of the endoluminal pursestring device is positioned adjacent tissue surrounding a lumen, and the handle assembly is rotated to cause the distal-most surgical fastener to be rotated into the tissue. The following surgical fasteners are also rotated into other portions of the tissue surrounding a lumen. The suture connecting each of the surgical fasteners is then pulled such that the surgical fasteners are pulled together, thereby closing the lumen.

CATHETER ASSEMBLY INCLUDING EXPANDABLE PERFORATION TREATMENT DEVICE

The present disclosure provides a catheter assembly including a catheter tube and an expandable unit attached to the catheter tube. The expandable unit is configurable in a collapsed configuration for facilitating delivery of the catheter assembly through a body lumen and a fully expanded configuration for contacting an interior wall of the body lumen to cover a perforation. The expandable unit defines a longitudinal channel extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the expandable unit when in the fully expanded configuration, permitting blood flow past the expandable unit. The disclosure further provides a method of treating a perforation by delivering a catheter assembly with an expandable unit to a perforation site, expanding the expandable unit to contact an interior wall of a body lumen to cover the perforation, and permitting blood flow past the expandable unit while in contact with the interior wall covering the perforation.

Methods, medical devices and kits for modifying the luminal profile of a body vessel

Methods of modifying the luminal profile of a body vessel are described. An example method comprises advancing a cannula out of the distal end of a catheter disposed within the lumen of a body vessel of an animal and toward a target site on the wall of the body vessel; passing contrast dye through the cannula toward the target site; simultaneously continuing the advancing and passing until the distal end of the cannula punctures the inner layer of the wall of the body vessel at the target site; and passing a bulking agent through the cannula and into a space between connective tissue layers surrounding the vessel wall at the target site. Medical devices, medical device assemblies, and kits are also described.

Sealed neurovascular extendable catheter

A catheter is provided which includes an outer catheter and an extendable inner catheter. A sealing feature is positioned between the inner catheter and the outer catheter to seal the annular gap between the two while allowing axial translation. The seal may be a compliant protrusion surrounding the inner catheter and may have a chevron-shape for facilitating axial translation. The seal may be a one-way valve configured to allow antegrade flushing but prevent retrograde flow. The seal may be squeegee-like flange on the distal tip of the outer catheter. The seal may be an expandable bulge, which may be mechanically expandable or inflatable or which may be a photosensitive or electrosensitive hydrogel. The seal may include a spring that is radially compressed upon translation or rotation of the inner catheter to transiently break the seal. Also provided is a seal for sealing between the catheter and the vasculature.

A medical device for making foam includes a syringe having a plunger for dispensing a liquid from a liquid dispensing port, and a mixing chamber including a mixing chamber inlet, a mixing chamber outlet, a liquid flow channel extending between the mixing chamber inlet and the mixing chamber outlet, and a gas inlet channel that intersects with the liquid flow channel. The system has a gas cartridge containing the gas, a first gas conduit connected with the syringe, and a second gas conduit connected with the gas inlet channel. An actuator is coupled with the gas cartridge for releasing the gas into the first and second gas conduits. The released gas in the first gas conduit forces the plunger toward the liquid dispensing port for dispensing the liquid from the liquid dispensing port and into the liquid flow channel while the released gas in the second gas conduit flows into the gas inlet channel of the mixing chamber for mixing with the liquid in the liquid flow channel.

According to an embodiment, an embolic apparatus includes: a main body portion extending in a longitudinal direction; a plurality of first frame portions foldably connected to the main body portion; a plurality of second frame portions foldably connected to an end opposite to the other end of the main body portion connected to the plurality of first frame portions; and a blocking film portion connecting the plurality of first frame portions and covering the first frame portion, wherein the first frame portion and the second frame portion extend in directions away from each other.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRANSCATHETER AORTIC VALVE TREATMENT

Devices and methods are configured to allow transcarotid or subclavian access via the common carotid artery to the native aortic valve, and implantation of a prosthetic aortic valve into the heart. The devices and methods also provide for embolic protection during such an endovascular aortic valve implantation procedure.
