SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Disclosed are systems and methods for adjusting environmental conditions based on automatically and manually generated requests. A commissioned unit comprising at least one IP luminaire (140, 150), transmits a signal comprising one or more identification codes. The signal may be, for example, a coded light signal. An environment control device (160) receives the signal, detects user input indicating one or more preferred environmental conditions, and transmits an environment control request comprising the one or more preferred environmental conditions. An environment manager module (110) receives the environment control request, generates an environment control command using the control request, and transmits the environment control command to one or more commissioned units to alter environmental conditions in a space in accordance with the user input.

In an example, a light control system includes a power converter, a light source, a sensor, and a control device. The power converter can convert an input power received from a power source to a supply power, and includes a power factor corrector (PFC) configured to adjustably control an electrical parameter of the supply power. The light source can, using the supply power, emit light at an intensity related to the electrical parameter. The sensor can sense a condition related to operation of the light source. The control device is communicatively coupled to the PFC and the sensor, and configured to: (i) receive, from the sensor, a sensor signal indicating an input parameter related to the condition, and (ii) based on sensor signal, provide a feedback signal to the PFC to cause the PFC to adjust, based on the input parameter, the electrical parameter of the supply power.

In an example, a power factor corrector (PFC) including a first PFC input, a second PFC input, and a PFC output. The first PFC input is configured to receive an input power from a power source. The second PFC input is configured to receive a signal from a feedback circuit. The PFC output configured to output a direct current (DC) power, which is based on the input power at the first PFC input and the signal at the second PFC input. The feedback circuit is coupled to the PFC output and the second PFC input. The feedback circuit is configured to provide the signal at the second PFC input based on an input parameter related to a condition that is sensible by a sensor. The condition is related to operation of a load.

A load-switch voltage control circuit includes a power control circuit for controlling a switching element that stabilizes the voltage to a load. The power control circuit determines intervals of conduction for the switching element, that connects a control impedance to the load, for stabilizing the voltage across the load.

Discharge lamp drive device, light source device, projector, and discharge lamp drive method

A discharge lamp drive device includes a discharge lamp driver adapted to supply a drive current to a discharge lamp having a first electrode and a second electrode, a control section adapted to control the discharge lamp driver, and a storage section adapted to store a plurality of drive patterns of the drive current. The control section is configured to select one drive pattern of the plurality of drive patterns based on machine learning, and execute the selected drive pattern. In a case in which a predetermined condition is fulfilled, the control section executes a predetermined drive pattern of the plurality of drive patterns without selecting and executing the drive pattern based on the machine learning.

Configurable Light Sensor Comprising a Photocell Array

A configurable light sensor comprising an array of photocells. The light sensor measures ambient light reflected from a surface in area to be monitored. A lens directs the light onto the array of photocells. A microcontroller reads each individual photocell and processes the signals from the photocells according to one or more of the methods disclosed herein. The light sensor is configurable in that the area that monitored by the light sensor is customized to match the area lit by an associated light source. The configuring process defines an active area to be monitored, by determining which subset of photocells in the array, referred to as the active set of photocells, corresponds to the area being illuminated by the light fixture. The light sensor is subsequently able to monitor the defined active area and to report sensor output values based on measurements made from the photocells monitoring the active area.

Dimmer

A bidirectional switch is switched so as to conduct and interrupt a bidirectional current between a pair of input terminals. A power supply is electrically connected between the pair of input terminals and produces control power by electric power from an AC power supply. A controller receives the control power from the power supply to be activated. The controller causes the bidirectional switch to be in an off-state from a start point of a half cycle of AC voltage to a first time point when a first time period elapses. The controller causes the bidirectional switch to be in an on-state from the first time point to a second time point when a second time period according to the dimming level elapses. The controller causes the bidirectional switch to be in an off-state from the second time point to an end point of the half cycle.
