An opening occupancy, which is the ratio of the opening area of all the through-holes included in a unit area of the outer surface of the polymer film to the unit area, is 25% or more and 41% or less. A surface density of boundary, which is the ratio of the length of opening edges of all the through-holes included in a unit area of the outer surface of the polymer film to the unit area, is 9.5/mm or more and 30/mm or less.

The invention relates to the treatment of aneurysms, and more particularly to intravascular devices and methods for the occlusion of an aneurysm. The device includes a first portion having an expandable and compressible mesh having dimensions for insertion into and expansion against the wall of an aneurysm and a second disk portion having a flexible, collapsible mesh operatively connected to an outer surface of the first portion and having dimensions for covering an outside of the neck opening. The combination of the first portion and second disk portion have a combined resilient flexibility to effectively bias the second disk portion against the neck opening in a substantially flat manner when the first portion is engaged within the aneurysm.

Implants can be used as flow diverters for treating aneurysms. Implants can include a stabilizing frame for anchoring the implant and an occluding element for diverting blood flow from the aneurysm neck. The stabilizing frame can have two parts, the first part sized to anchor within the sac of the aneurysm and the exterior part sized to anchor against a region of the blood vessel wall adjacent the aneurysm neck. The occluding element can be attached to the interior frame and positioned to occlude the aneurysm neck. The implant can have a central node that can be positioned near the center of the aneurysm neck at which the interior frame is attached to the exterior frame and from which the interior frame and the exterior frame extend.

A device and method for establishing retrograde blood flow during recanalization of a vessel having a targeted blockage. While in a collapsed state an occluding component is introduced distally intravascularly traversing the targeted blockage to its distal side. Then, the occluding component transitions to an expanded state having an enlarged diameter forming a seal with an internal wall of the vessel prohibiting anterograde blood flow beyond the expanded occluding component. Retrograde blood flow is thereby established in a region of the vessel bound at one end by the occluding component and at an opposite end by the targeted blockage by dispensing a flushing fluid into the region of the vessel.
