Photo-Activatable Gel Coated Intracranial Stent and Embolic Coil
An intracranial stent includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a tubular sidewall extending there between and a patch covering at least a portion of the sidewall; wherein the patch is capable of diverting blood flow past the neck of an intracranial aneurysm. The patch may be made of a photon-activatable material or a tightly woven metal material with a density greater than a density of the sidewall itself.
ROBOTIC EMBOLISATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM
The invention has been particularly developed for a controlled embolisation application in arterial and venous embolisation, and relates to a device used for halting the progression of aneurysm and reflux closing/aneurysms, blocking/arteries closing/arteriovenous malformations/-venous reflux procedures.
MEDICAL FILAMENT DELIVERY APPARATUS
Medical filament delivery apparatus includes a feed chamber to which can be fed filamentary material from a store of filamentary material. The apparatus is designed to feed filamentary material through a catheter into a patient, for example into an aneurysm. The apparatus includes a feed tube assembly having a feed tube with a slot at its distal end. A distal end of the filamentary material can be held within the slot to ensure accurate positioning of the distal end of the filamentary material into the drive assembly. The apparatus provides for severing of the distal end of the filamentary material once the feed tube assembly has been inserted into the drive assembly, thereby ensuring reliable positioning of the filamentary material into the drive assembly. More delicate filamentary material can be handled compared to prior art arrangements.
IMPLANTABLE DAMPING DEVICES FOR TREATING DEMENTIA AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE
Devices, systems, and methods for reducing stress on a blood vessel are disclosed herein. A damping device (100) configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include an anchoring member (104) coupled to a flexible, compliant damping member (102) including a generally tubular sidewall having an outer surface (115), an inner surface (113) defining a lumen configured to direct blood flow, a first end portion (106) and a second end portion (108), and a damping region (120) between the first and second end portions (106, 108). The inner and outer surfaces (113, 115) of the damping member (102) can be spaced apart by a distance that is greater at the damping region (120) than at either of the first or second end portions (106, 108). When blood flows through the damping member (102) during systole, the damping member (102) absorbs a portion of the pulsatile energy of the blood, thereby reducing a magnitude of the pulse pressure transmitted to a portion of the blood vessel distal to the damping device (100).
THERAPEUTIC POWDER APPLICATOR
Therapeutic powder applicators and their methods of operation are described. In some embodiments, a first flow of gas may flow through a distal porous portion of a chamber containing a therapeutic powder. This gas may fluidize and entrain the therapeutic powder and flow the entrained powder through an outlet that is in fluid communication with the chamber.
Methods, devices and systems for filling body cavities
In various aspects, present disclosure is directed to methods, devices and systems whereby one or more low viscosity fluids may be introduced into a catheter and whereby the one or more low viscosity fluids may be converted into a high viscosity fluid in the catheter, which high viscosity fluid may be delivered from an exit port of the catheter.
Medical device delivery member with flexible stretch resistant distal portion
A delivery member is provided for delivering and deploying an intravascular medical device. The delivery member includes a flexible distal portion including a wound wire coil surrounded by a flexible sleeve and inhibited from extending lengthwise by a stretch resistant member positioned through the lumen of the coil. The delivery member can include hypotubes positioned on either side (distally and proximally) from the wound wire coil to which the stretch resistant member and the wound wire coil can be attached.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR EXCLUDING THE LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE
Devices and methods are described for occluding the left atrial appendage (LAA). The device excludes the LAA from blood flow to prevent blood from clotting within the LAA and subsequently embolizing, particularly in patients with atrial fibrillation. The implantable device is delivered via transcatheter delivery into the LAA and secured within the LAA. The implant comprises an expandable and compliant frame and an expandable and conformable tubular foam body carried by the frame. The device may have a thromboresistant cover at a proximal end and a thromboresistant coating on the foam body. The frame may have recapture struts inclining radially outwardly in the distal direction from a central hub. The frame may have axially extending side wall struts, with adjacent pairs of side wall struts joined at one or more apexes. Anchors extend from the frame to engage tissue. The anchors can also be reversible to allow retraction of the anchors and repositioning or retrieval of the device.
MEDICAL DEVICES COMPRISING DETACHABLE BALLOONS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AND USE
The present disclosure relates to medical devices comprising detachable balloons and catheter assemblies, wherein the detachable balloons are polymer balloons, metal balloons, polymer-coated metal balloons, and metalized polymer balloons. Various means of attachment and detachment of the balloons to the catheter assemblies are described. Kits and uses of systems having one or more medical devices, detachable balloons, and elongated or expandable bodies are also disclosed.
Devices and methods for repair of a selected blood vessel or part thereof and rapid healing of injured internal body cavity walls
In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a catheter having a catheter body, a light emitter disposed at a distal end of the catheter body, and a fluid conduit coupleable to a source of fluid. The fluid conduit configured to discharge fluid from the source via the conduit and out a distal end of the catheter body. A spacing member is disposed at the distal end of the catheter body and can be moved between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. In the expanded configuration, the spacing member is disposed about the light emitter. The spacing member is at least partially transmissive and/or transflective of light emitted from the light emitter. The apparatus configured to be inserted at least partially into a body lumen, to discharge fluid into the body lumen, and to emit light from the light emitter to illuminate an interior wall of the body lumen.
