WEARABLE COMPRESSION DEVICE

Disclosed are devices, systems, and methods of a wearable compression control system for actively controlling an applied pressure against an extremity to restrict blood flow along the extremity of a user performing an exercise or undergoing a therapy. In some embodiments, the system can include an inflatable band that extends circumferentially around the extremity. The inflatable band can include a bladder having an expandable inner volume for receiving fluid to cause the inflatable band to increase in thickness and increase an applied pressure against the extremity. The system can further include a controller that releasably couples to the inflatable band and includes a processor having a programmed pressure range. The processor can be configured to actively maintain the applied pressure within the programmed pressure range throughout the user performing the exercise or the user undergoing the therapy.

INFLATABLE RADIAL ARTERY COMPRESSION DEVICE WITH REINFORCED BACKER PLATE

Devices and methods used to provide hemostasis at a radial artery access site are disclosed. The devices include a backer plate, an inflatable chamber, and a wristband. The backer plate includes a reinforced section and flex points. In a flexed state the backer plate is flexed at the flex points and the reinforced section is planar to provide a planar compressive surface over the radial artery access site.

Simplified Field Use Junctional Tourniquets

A junctional tourniquet apparatus and related methods of use. An exemplary tourniquet has an inverted cone shape, wherein a narrower end has a mushroom shaped base that is pressed against a compression target and a broader end has a plurality of pass-through slots for straps. Another exemplary tourniquet has a broad plate component and a handle component. The handle component has a mushroom shaped base on a first end and a handle on a second end. The handle component passes through the center of the plate component with threads that allow the handle component to compress a target by twisting the handle.

CARDIAC IMPLANTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE POCKET COMPRESSION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MITIGATING LOCALIZED BLEEDING USING SAME
20220125438 · 2022-04-28 ·

An apparatus and method for mitigating pocket bleeding and hematoma formation in a patient. A wrap having a block is secured around the torso of the patient to align the block with a torso area. The wrap includes a first portion extending laterally around the torso and a second portion extending over the shoulder and connecting to the first portion. The block is secured within a pouch of the wrap over the torso area. The first and second portions are adjustable to apply an adjustable force to the block that produces a corresponding adjustable pressure on the torso area. The applied pressure is high enough to hinder blood flow to the torso area to promote clotting at the torso area and low enough to permit blood flow to the torso area to promote healing.

BALLOON ASSEMBLY FOR USE IN A HEMOSTASIS BAND

A balloon assembly (200) that can be attached to a band assembly (300) to form a hemostasis band (100) used to perform hemostasis on a puncture site (89) of a human being (90). The balloon assembly (200) can include a balloon (210) that provides for being inflated to apply pressure to the puncture site (89), one or more openings (220) that provides for the insertion of the band assembly (300), and an inlet (230) for inflating the balloon (210).

Climbing harness with built-in tourniquet
11766265 · 2023-09-26 ·

A system of a combined climbing harness and medical tourniquet, and a method for using the system. A looped thigh strap portion of a climbing harness is detachable from the harness belt for separate alternative use as an emergency tourniquet for the user or a patient. The looped thigh strap is provided with features and components to facilitate its use as a functional tourniquet for either an arm or a leg, while nevertheless in ordinary use allowing it to serve as a component of a climbing harness.

The invention includes a transradial introducer sheath support and integral hemostasis device. The device includes a wristband and an introducer sheath support mount attached to the wristband. The wristband is made from a flexible and resilient material that is applied to the distal forearm of the patient or other desired location on the patient. The support mount may be a molded unitary structure, such as made from a thermoplastic material, and is attached directly to the outer surface of the wristband. An inflatable hemostatic element is incorporated in the wristband and mounted to an interior surface of the wristband. The hemostatic element may be selectively inflated to apply pressure to a radial access point of the patient during and after removal of the transradial introducer sheath from the patient. Another embodiment provides a hemostatic element by a rotatable clasp of the sheath support mount.

Devices, assemblies, systems, and techniques described herein may facilitate the closure of hollow anatomical structures (e.g., veins) with adhesive delivered within the hollow anatomical structure. For example, a medical assembly may include a plurality of medial compression members extending from a central body in a first direction, each medial compression member of the plurality of medial compression members comprising a first attachment element, and a plurality of lateral compression members extending from the central body in a second direction different than the first direction, each lateral compression member of the plurality of lateral compression members comprising a second attachment element. Each first attachment mechanism may be configured to attach to the respective second attachment element to create a respective loop configuration with a respective medial compression member and lateral compression member pair to compress a portion of the limb of the patient.

Ultrasound compatible inflatable vascular compression and related systems and methods

Vascular compression devices with an inflatable chamber are disclosed. The inflatable chamber of the vascular compression devices can be inflated and then deflated with a liquid with ultrasound properties similar to biological tissues. Ultrasound waves may be applied to the vascular compression device and may propagate through the vascular compression device and into the biological tissue of the patient to produce an ultrasound image to determine the patency of the vessel.
