The press-fit terminal includes: a connecting portion formed on a tip end side of the press-fit terminal; and an enlarged portion formed adjacent to the connecting portion. The guide member includes: an opening portion, which opens in a direction in which the press-fit terminal is positioned; a guide hole extending from the opening portion to the substrate; and a reduced-hole portion formed adjacent to the opening portion. The guide hole is configured such that, when the connecting portion of the press-fit terminal is connected to the connected portion of the substrate, the enlarged portion of the press-fit terminal closes the reduced-hole portion of the guide hole.

Method for electrically connecting an electronic module and electronic assembly

An electronic assembly has an electronic module and an electric part. The electronic module has an electric terminal having a press-fit section. The press-fit section includes at least one of the following CuFeP; CuZr; CuCrZr; CuMg; CuCrTiSi; CuCrAgFeTiSi; and CuNiSiMg. The electric part has a contact hole. The electronic assembly includes a press-fit connection between the press-fit section and the electric part. In that press-fit connection, the press-fit section both mechanically and electrically contacts the electric part.

In a hollow part of a hollow cylinder shaped external electrode terminal, a part of the other open end side of the main body part of the cylindrical contact member is inserted from an open end of the external electrode terminal. The other end of the external electrode terminal is separated into branches by cuts inserted in a through-hole insertion part. A column surface of the outside of the branches of the external electrode terminal has an arc shape. Pressure in a direction from inside the external electrode terminal toward the outside is applied to the branches of the through-hole insertion part by an auxiliary wedge. With such a configuration, assembly defects accompanying connection of the external electrode terminal and other members may be eliminated.

Compliant pin with multiple engagement sections

An electrical contact includes a compliant portion having an opening extending between contact arms. A first contact arm of the contact arms has multiple resilient engagement sections extending into the opening of the compliant portion and resilient contacting sections extending from the engagement sections in a direction away from the opening. Upon insertion of the compliant portion into the hole of the substrate, the resilient engagement sections of the first contact arm engage an opposed second contact arm of the contact arms, causing each of the resilient contacting sections to move independently of the resilient engagement sections and independently of other resilient contacting sections. Each of the resilient engagement sections and the resilient contacting sections are deformed and generate independent retention forces which are combined to generate the total retention force of the compliant portion.
