RECORDING METHOD, RECORDING DEVICE, REPRODUCTION METHOD, REPRODUCTION DEVICE, AND HIGH-SPEED RESPONSE ELEMENT
The present invention provides a recording method and a recording device in which information can be easily recorded even in a magnetic recording medium using epsilon iron oxide particles having a high coercive force as a magnetic recording material. A recording device of the invention applies an external magnetic field H.sub.0 that inclines magnetization of epsilon iron oxide particles to a particle dispersion element containing epsilon iron oxide particles, and irradiates the particle dispersion element with light that excites the magnetization. Accordingly, the recording device is capable of inverting magnetization that is not capable of being inverted only by the external magnetic field, in accordance with a synergetic effect between the inclination of the magnetization and the light excitation of the magnetization.
POLYMER-FUNCTIONALIZED MAGNETIC PARTICLE EMBODIMENTS FOR SOLUTE SEPARATION, AND DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR USING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a polymer-functionalized particle for using in isolating and extracting solutes, such as rare earth metals, lithium, and the like. The polymer-functionalized particles exhibit strong resistance to agglomeration and degradation even in high ionic strength and/or temperature environments. A post-particle synthesis method for making the polymer-functionalized particle is disclosed, along with a magnetic separation device and that can be used in system embodiments to facilitate use and regeneration of the polymer-functionalized particles in solute extraction.

Combustion engine electromagnetic energy disruptor
A combustion engine electromagnetic energy disruptor includes shaped disruptor carried in an enclosure, and configured to disrupt, distort, and/or agitate electromagnetic energy proximate a combustion engine and fuel system. The disruptor incorporates electromagnetically responsive constituents dispersed in a substantially water-free resin hardened above about Shore D 60 into a predetermined volume and density. The resin and constituents are combined to have a mass ratio of about 50% resin and 50% powdered constituents. A permittivity of the enclosure does not exceed about 3.5, and of the resin and constituents in combination substantially exceeds about 3.5. The resin includes a urethane resin that is mixed prior to curing into a substantially homogenous dispersion with the constituents. The constituents include one or more of piezoelectric, diamagnetic, paramagnetic, ferrimagnetic, and ferromagnetic materials. Such materials include one or more of powdered quartz, black tourmaline, magnetite, iron, iron oxide, zinc oxide, copper oxide, aluminum, and graphite.
