The present invention relates to an acetabular cup removing apparatus for an artificial hip joint. An acetabular cup removing apparatus for an artificial hip joint according to one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a main driving unit; a main shaft which is rotatable by a driving force of the main driving unit; a cutter unit which is disposed at a front end of the main shaft, tiltable along an acetabular portion into which an acetabular cup has been implanted, and cuts the acetabular portion while being rotated by the main shaft; and a stepless adjustment unit for steplessly adjusting a tilting angle of the cutter unit while continuously moving in a forward and backward direction relative to the main shaft.

ROTARY SURGICAL INSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY

A rotary surgical assembly is disclosed. The assembly has a plurality of cutting teeth (216), a hollow dome (200) and a spindle (10). The hollow dome has a pole having a pole axis X, and a cutting surface featuring some of the cutting teeth. The cutting surface includes a curved part (214) and a substantially flat part (212) proximal the pole with an aperture (210) extending therethrough. The spindle has a proximal end (12) and a distal end (14) including a spindle mounting element (16). The spindle mounting element is secured to the dome beneath the substantially flat part of the cutting surface. The spindle mounting element has a cutting tooth (22) that extends distally through the cutting surface's aperture to form one of the said plurality of cutting teeth. A kit, and methods of manufacturing the rotary surgical assembly are described also.

Tool for cutting bone for surgical use

A device is provided, including a cutting rib, the cutting rib including an arcuate portion having an outer sharp edge and a centralizer configured to receive the cutting rib through a radial slot, the radial slot forming a gap with the cutting rib. The arcuate portion of the cutting rib is formed into a profile that follows a surface of the centralizer, the outer sharp edge of the arcuate portion of the cutting rib has a wavy profile that forms a tunnel in the gap between the centralizer and the cutting rib, and the outer sharp edge of the arcuate portion of the cutting rib protrudes outwardly from the surface of the centralizer. A method for using the device to cut bone in a surgical configuration is also provided.

SYSTEMS, TARGETS, AND METHODS FOR OPTICAL REGISTRATION OF TOOLS

Described are systems, targets, and methods for registering a tool for use in optical tracking. A first target and a second target are attached to the tool, with the first target having a known spatial relationship to the tool or end effector of the tool. By determining a spatial feature of the first target and a pose of the second target, and using the known spatial relationship between the first target and the tool or end effector of the tool, a spatial relationship between the second target and the end effector can be determined. Subsequently the first target can be removed, and the end effector is trackable based on only tracking of the second target. In some implementations, the first target is removably couplable to the tool by the same interface by which the end effector is removably couplable to the tool.
