Adjustable femoral neck osteotomy guide
An orthopedic assembly is disclosed. This orthopedic assembly can include a ring portion, a second portion and indicia. The ring portion can define an aperture configured to allow the ring portion to seat on a head of a bone. The second portion can extend from the ring portion. The second portion can define a slot that is curved along a first length. The indicia can extend along a portion of one or both of the ring portion and the second portion.
System And Method For Robotically Assisting A Surgical Procedure
Surgical systems, methods and surgical planning programs to facilitate preparation of an anatomical cavity to receive a cup implant. The system includes a control system, a localizer and a robotic manipulator configured to move an energy applicator that is adapted to remove tissue. The control system obtains or generates a surgical plan that defines characteristics of cement holes to be formed within a wall of the anatomical cavity for receiving bone cement. The control system registers the surgical plan to the anatomical cavity with the localizer and controls the robotic manipulator to utilize the energy applicator to form the cement holes within the wall of the anatomical cavity according to the surgical plan.
Device and Method for Treating Osteonecrosis
Provided herein are methods and compositions for treating bone osteonecrosis comprising: at least one of a Gelatin tyramine (GT), a gelatin-heparin tyramine (GHT), a gelatin methacryloyl (GelMa), a gelatin acryloyl (GelAC), collagen, or a hydrogel-forming peptide that can be formed ex vivo or in situ for the treatment of bone osteonecrosis; at least one bone growth promoting agent or a macrophage depletion reagent; and optionally one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
Safety Hip Femoral Bone Preparation Instruments for the Femur in Minimally Invasive Total Hip Arthroplasty
A safety broach for use in arthroplasty for hip joints, and a system including the same. The system may further include a segmented or otherwise flexible reamer and an implant. The safety broach includes a hollow interior passage that serves to guide the reamer when the safety broach is in place in the bone. The system may include any number of sizes of safety broaches, segmented reamers, and implants. In any case, such a safety broach may be capable of assisting with arthroplasty for hip joints (or any other joint), while typically providing enhanced safety and reliability of the arthroplasty.
Tracked surgical tool with flexible lumen and exposure control
A tool for surgically removing tissue of a patient includes a body, a flexible rotating shaft that drives a distal cutting tool and is drivingly coupled to a motor supported by bearings in a flexible tubular sheath to allow the shaft to rotate and be shifted longitudinally. Steering cables in the sheath control the flexion of the sheath. A processor controls the operation to ensure that the cutting tool operates within a predetermined resection area, controlling a combination of motor speed, sheath flexion, and shaft retraction to assist surgery in the resection area.

Implantable medical device for lubricating an artificial contacting surface
An implantable medical device, for implantation in a mammal knee joint, comprising an artificial contacting surface adapted to replace at least one contacting surface of the knee joint and to be lubricated when implanted in said joint. The medical device further comprises a reservoir comprising a movable wall portion defining the volume of the reservoir, at least one inlet adapted to receive a lubricating fluid from the reservoir, at least one channel at least partly integrated in said artificial contacting surface, wherein the channel is fluidly connected with said at least one inlet for distributing said lubricating fluid to the surface of said artificial contacting surface. The medical device further comprises an operation device adapted to non-invasively transport said lubricating fluid from said reservoir to said artificial contacting surface, and an implantable injection port for refilling said reservoir, wherein the movable wall portion is moved when the reservoir is refilled, such that the volume of the reservoir is increased.
MODULAR TOOL
A modular surgical tool hip, for example for shoulder, knee or bone traumatology is provided comprising a handle, and interface part and a tool. The handle may be releasably coupled to the interface element by a threaded ring on a threaded cylindrical member of the handle. The handle may comprise a slot in which a keyed element of the interface may engage, to be trapped when the ring is turned about the cylindrical member. Meanwhile the interface may be releasably coupled to the tool by means of a keyed element of the tool which may be slid into a slot of the interface means, the slot being intersected by a securing pin channel passing through the body of the interface from the other side, such that when the securing pin is inserted the keyed member of the tool is trapped in the slot.
Medical instrumentarium comprising sawing template
The invention relates to a medical instrumentarium for implanting a hip joint endoprosthesis, which instrumentarium comprises at least one sawing template with at least one guide slot for a saw blade, wherein the sawing template comprises at least one first coupling element for temporarily coupling the sawing template to a second coupling element of a rasp body of a prosthesis rasp in a coupling position.
