A system and method for improving installation of a prosthesis which may include assembly of a modular prosthesis. Devices include prosthesis installation tools, prosthesis assembly tools, site preparation systems, and improved power tools used in implant site preparation, the tools including a secondary motion that preferably includes an ultrasonic vibration.

Hip joint instrument and method
11234713 · 2022-02-01 ·

A method of treating a hip joint of a human patient using a pelvic drill comprising a driving member, a bone contacting and an operating device for operating said driving member. The method comprise the steps of cutting the skin of the human patient, dissecting an area of the pelvic bone on the opposite side from the acetabulum, creating a hole in said dissected area using said pelvic drill, said hole passing through the pelvic bone and into the hip joint of the human patient, and providing at least one hip joint surface to the hip joint, through said hole in the pelvic bone of the human patient. In one embodiment the method includes inserting a needle or tube like instrument into the patient's body for filling a part of the patient's body with gas and thereby expanding a cavity within the body.

Minimally invasive hip joint and joint replacing method

A minimally invasive hip joint and a joint replacing method are provided. The minimally invasive hip joint includes a threaded rod and a joint body including a plurality of elastic sheets, with their top ends being all disposed at a top end position of the threaded rod, and bottom ends being all movably sleeved on the threaded rod and dispersedly distributed along the circumferential direction of the threaded rod; and the threaded rod is threadedly engaged with a locking component located at the below position of the elastic sheets. The joint replacing method comprises replacing a damaged or undamaged femoral head on a femur with the aforementioned minimally invasive hip joint. When replacing a damaged or undamaged femoral head with the minimally invasive hip joint, it is only necessary to drill at the outer side of the trochanter major and rotate the locking component.

Systems and methods for intramedullary nail implantation

Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail. In some embodiments, the proximal end may further include a cross-locking feature, which includes a second bone anchor that interlocks with a first bone anchor, for example, for enhanced bone purchase and bony fixation.
